90s Classic
I absolutely love Mike Grell's Green Arrow. This graphic novel was a fitting end to his long run. I highly recommend it.

Love Mike Grell
Mike Grell sets his Green Arrow character far afield of traditional comic book hero's and that's perfect for me . I first encountered Mike's writing and illustrating when I found a BIG run of his Jon Sable Freelance comic books in a $1 box years ago . This book (vol 9) came as a huge , unexpected and delightful surprise to me . I read it in several days . I'd no idea that Mike wrote and did layouts and art for this lengthy project . My only small quibble is with the guest artist who wrote the first couple of issues in this volume . I don't know if he was starting out in the comic world or this two issue story is indicative of his artistic style ? That aside , I had a blast and highly enjoyed the balance of this generous book . Strongly recommended for like minded souls .

Overstaying its welcome
80 issues (Plus two mini series) is no easy task for anyone to pull, and Mike Grell's Green Arrow pretty much shows it with a lot of ups and downs.Old Tricks tries to end the series without room for loose knots or ends, but it just overstays its welcome. (SPOILERS AHEAD) The affair(?) with Marianne as a reason for Oliver and Dinah is just silly and Roy Harper appearence so late in the series brings way more questions than it should. It should finish in issue 75, maybe sooner.
