DecoArt DASK276 Patio Paint Sample Pack

Needed an out door paint for a memorial project. This paint gave good coverage.

I bought this set of 6 from Amazon as no store had they locally. I purchased some extra individual colors from Michael's locally which, by the way, cost me more than if I had purchased them off Amazon, but I only had 1 day left before the painting was set for my granddaughter.We painted on small rocks (2-3") - ladybugs -- All the blues go on very nicely, one thick coat or two thin ones cover the rocks well. The purple needs a couple of coats, but the yellow and red took about 8-10 coats between coating and drying and recoating before they were adequately covered. Someone else mentioned the paints are thin. I wouldn't say "thin" but they are definitely not as thick as some of the acrylics I've used in the past for canvas painting. Nonetheless, I have the finished lady bugs outside and they are in the direct, very hot, sun (100-108F). They've only been outside about a week now, so we'll see how this paint holds up over time. Others say it holds up which is why I tried these paints.

I'm no artist, but I play one on TV (kidding)... These paints are easy to use: they don't dry too quickly during the process, spread evenly, and don't clump up. They also clean off the brushes well with soap and warm water. I wish there were a navy blue and darker purple. It might be possible to create these colors mixing what the kit has with black, but again, I'm not an artist. I think I'd prefer a kit that had the darker primary colors and included a white. One probably exists, but to be honest, I haven't looked. At the time of purchase, I initially needed the black to touch up our house numbers +  Thompsons 10100 Aerosol Water Seal Multi-Surface Waterproofer 12oz  (see pics). While I've only used them a couple of times so far, should I need more, I'd order these again.

I have brick colored concrete edgers 10 x 6" or so...tired of the color...I have a pollinator butterfly garden! Well...I'm stenciling butterflies and dragonflies in colors...easy to do..paint looks beautiful! Will look better when I've completed the project! Thank you for adding to extra colors!!!!!! We haven't tried this out outside yet, but I have high hopes! The paint was thick like a tempura paint or children's washable paint. The colors dried true to the colors they were when wet...they darkened only a little so the kids were happy the final results looked like what they were hoping for.We made a turtle stepping stone together, and since i had a little extra mortar leftover, we also made this garden art "stone" & painted it fun colors. We used all the colors I showed in the included picture, and then black on the stepping stone. They mixed well so we made an olive/darker and more neutral green by mixing in some red for the turtles legs and head. Then we mixed ocean colors directly on the turtle' s back. My kids had a lot of fun painting together! I will update next summer after the paint has been through some seasons and see how it handles weather over time.

I bought this patio paint for an indoor project because I thought it would be waterproof. The project was painting glass and ceramic surfaces. Because the paint is very thin i had to add thick acrylic paint to have a workable consistency. After dried It holds up to a quick rinse and wipe but does come off if it's a soapy scrub. I don't know if that is due to adding other paint to it or not. Using it without any added substance does work well with porous materials like wood. I personally would clear coat over top to protect from weather. I wouldn't buy them again.

I bought this set along with clear coat, a white paint pen, and a cheap pack of 25 brushes for my kids (2&4) to paint rocks over the summer. It was a big hit! It washes or rubs pretty easily off of skin but I made them wear smocks. I ended up taking over their project and had a great time myself. I'll be buying the bigger set of paints next time because I love the brightness of the colors and consistency. I didn't need to put down a white coat first, the colors can stand on their own. I did mix colors to make orange and light green.

I purchased this sample set of paints for my rock painting. I had just taken up the hobby and didn't want to spend too much money. I am very happy with this product. The smaller bottles are perfect for my projects. A little paint goes a long way. The one thing that I would recommend to buyers is to think about the colors you will need. If I would have thought it through I probably would have ordered the larger set. I would have liked to have white and brown, but I was fine without it.

I loved how this paint adhered to the metal. We spray painted it white first. Then applied the patio paints. I used the patio pens for details.

A little goes a long way. Great colours. True and vivid. Bought to repaint an old concrete gnome. Wire brushed off old paint that was loose and this is covering the bare concrete and remaining paint well. Time will tell how well it lasts outside over time.

As advertised, good on rocks!

Wow!! This set of paints was truly amazing! My art work on old tree. This patio paint was easy to use, great colors and even after rainy weather, winds still as the day it was painted!!!
