It does take up a good amount of surface area, so if the beach is crowded, a regular umbrella might be easier to squeeze in. This was a great purchase. So easy to put up, such a small footprint when torn down, material seems sturdy, didn’t even begin to flinch in any amount of wind we had during a week at the beach. Love the open view out the front, much better than a low umbrella. The only thing I’ll say is that it advertises shade for 4 people but honestly it’s really only good for 2. Especially during certain times of the day during certain positions of the sun. I am considering buying 2 more poles to put at the back which would create more overall shade during certain times. I would buy this again in a heartbeat, you can feel good about this one!

It worked well, but on a crowded beach, it might be difficult to set up. To set and bury the sand anchors took up a 15'+ square. Space that might not be available on a crowded beach unless you get there early. Also, if you needed to take it down and pack it up fast in the event of an incoming storm, a regular umbrella worked better. We will be using it again. It was light weight and much easier to transport than an umbrella, and it was sturdy. Next time we'd couple the 7x7 with a regular umbrella between the supports or add another 7x7 to expand the coverage for 3 people, or 2 that wanted to lay on blankets. If you don't mind the heavier carrying weight, I'd say go for the larger version.

This is sturdy and pretty easy to set up just not practical.This is useless unless the sun is in a very specific spot in the sky. It’s not like an umbrella or even a tent that you can rotate as needed. Our beach typically has the sun in front of you until afternoon so this was useless unless we were to set it up facing backwards which would be weird. Stick with an umbrella.

I got this for a solo beach trip and it was absolutely perfect! I forgot to time the setup, but it was worth whatever time it took me to do. I read the instructions at home and implementation was seemlesss. Follow the instructions.The location of the shade changed throughout the day, but was always there and the last few hours was full shade. Worth the investment. Very sturdy.I sat my chair in the sun so I could warm up from the shade as needed 🤯😃

It’s easy to put up. Great in the wind. But there is no way to utilize 60% of the shade. Unless you lay flat under it. So it’s useless
