Young Scientists Experiment
My 6 year old son actually requested this for his 6th birthday and we finally bought it for him. He said he wanted to experiment beast lab, so his dad and him worked on it and he was so excited. Great experience for kids who are interested in science. Following the instructions and the green liquid slowly disappeared. It’s a little expensive but worth it for the experience.

Realistic science experiment!! Great for 5+
My 5 year old kept seeing these and asked for them forever!! The price on Amazon was much better than other stores. It needs batteries but then you g through the steps to "create" your beast. Its very interactive! You can turn off the steam/fog.Only thing that I wish the manufacturer did was make it where you could buy the other figurines. They sell the science kit to redo the experiment but to get another figure you have to buy an entirely new lab. There are only 2 different figures in each animal category so its a 50% chance you will get the same one again.

Our’s was a disappointment unfortunately 😔
This was my son’s big Santa gift, and it came with part of the liquid in the chamber already gone (it leaked really badly) and so he saw the Shark toy was already made inside (that was part of the big selling point too, which shark would your pandemonium crystal give you) and he saw it as soon as the box was opened up and it was taken out. Then the steam/smoke feature, or whatever it was supposed to do along with the reveal of the shark didn’t work for us.So I am really not sure why it required 6 double AA batteries in the base, if it was just for the sound effects and light on the finger scanner that was a waste of batteries, especially if it is made not to be reused. It was pretty disappointing and definitely, in my opinion, not worth the cost; now, had it worked and been able to reuse the lab, then absolutely! The shark toy that came out of it is good quality, but the lab had to be thrown out with new brand new batteries I had just put in it, because it wouldn’t stop leaking. I kept it in the sink for 48 hours to let it try and stop, but it didn’t and was yet another big let down for my son’s biggest gift from Santa. While it was a bummer to have do do so, it seemed like the only option as it continued leaking fluorescent green liquid out of it. So, we decided that it couldn’t be kept either because it was not something that probably needed to be leaking and being handled by kids. Not sure if it’s designed to be a one time use, but it didn’t seem like it as it had the option to refill and I believe purchase more? Not sure about that to be fair.I would advise against this purchase as it was a big let down, unless we had a faulty product for some reason? I ordered it from Amazon during Black Friday deals and shopping so it’s entirely possible that something was damaged in the shipping and handling part of our experience. I followed all box handling instructions as well as the step by step instructions for the making of the monster. So I know it wasn’t operator error.Overall I am just disappointed and unimpressed for both my son and myself, and would caution you to read the reviews if you’re considering this purchase. Cool idea, just seems like they’re still working through some of the logistics at this particular point in time. Santa will do better research next year. 🙁

Take it from a mom who hates junk toys....
It's totally the coolest toy and I'd get it again and again!!! It was a gift for my 6 year old and he loved it. My 9 year old loved it and asked for one, too! Easy to use, instructions were easy to follow. There are features that make playing with the beast and the lab fun even after initially creating the beast. We also got a refill pack that we haven't used yet, but he's had the best time with the lab for the past two days. I almost didn't get it because I was afraid it would be junk, but it's an awesome toy!

Got one that didn't work properly
The concept was great but the item did not drain the liquid in the final step. There is a button inside that is supposed to lift when an outsider lever is pulled down. The lifting of this button is the trigger that drains the green ooze revealing the beast inside. We could not get it to work. My grandson was very disappointed as we had seen one that another grandson received that worked perfectly. He still had fun with it but it would have been an exceptional toy had it worked properly.

Toy Unboxing taken to the Next Level
I genuinely did not know what to expect with this. Walking through the steps, I thought we were doing a science experiment which would result in lava overflowing or something. Not until the very end did I realize it’s all a production for a hidden toy inside of the chamber, the various steps all part of a magical unboxing for the hidden toy. What a great production to give a child a sense of “making” their own toy. Glad that it can be reused with the purchase of additional chemicals, will definitely do it again. Highly recommended!

Missing a piece- but great gift!
Edit** my original post was a couple hours after playing with the toy. Less than 24 hours and the lever that makes the goo disappear has broken. It’s a cool toy, but I’m not happy that I paid a lot of money for this. This was all my 8yo son wanted for his birthday. He was so excited, and it was refreshing to watch him follow the directions and not get frustrated with it. The product was missing a small beaker used to measure out water, but we managed without it. Although the additives are a one time use, I liked that the kids swapped out “monsters” and had hours of fun playing with it.

Cool
This comes with two sets of refills for your beastlab and includes a sword for the beast toy which we did not realize until after buying. That was a cool surprise. Good value for money.

Other reviews a bit over the top
I purchased two of these for my two boys (4&6) for Christmas. It was expensive. I was worried and second guessing the purchase as I read through all negative reviews pre Christmas. In the end it was a huge Hit with both boys. We all sat down together and went through the steps and they had a blast. It is NOT single use and you don’t have to buy refill kits to continue to enjoy the toys. The actual lab and the beast are high quality, and I’m not sure why it seems so many people are having issues with them. The boys love playing with the beasts and the labs AFTER the experiment. It’s expensive , but the boys loved it. Great product and high quality. I would take the over the top negative reviews with a grain of salt. Great experience. I would think a more reasonable price tag for the toy would be around 50$ , I bet it would have tempered the parental expectations of a REAL beast being created …
