Mikki Dog and Puppy Soft Breathable Nylon Muzzle to Prevent Biting and Chewing - Size 3,Black

Used a size 4 Mikki at vet last month which fit perfectly on my 11mth rottie so ordered one size 4 and it's too big????? Have the sizings changed as I presume the vet has had theirs for some years. I'll no doubt give it to someone and reorder another size 3. Hate the hassle of returning things

Stays on, strong material and my dog doesn’t mind having it on

Size 2xl was perfect fit for my cocker spaniel. A snug fit but not too tight around his nose and mouth. He can still lick and take a treat but it stops him from being able to snap. He needs it for visits to the vet (not a fan!) for peace of mind and also to stop him being bitey when being groomed (again, not a fan!). He of course, absolutely hates it but it is quick and easy to put on so can be done fairly easily despite his resistance. It wouldn’t be suitable for use over long periods, but it is effective for short spells. Obviously I would rather not need one but when he is in uncomfortable situations, I would rather know he can’t snap.

This is the 2nd muzzle of this type that I have bought, so am happy with the product.

The vet used one of these on our German shepherd dog at a recent appointment and I was impressed by how easy it was to use and how comfortable it looked. I decided to purchase our own one for further visits but forgot to ask what size they used on him. I measured his nose at the widest point as suggested, an inch or so below his eyes and it was nearly 30cm. When I looked at the size suggested for his breed however it was way off at 18.5-19.5cm. I wasn’t sure if I had measured in the wrong place or that their suggested size was wrong, but in the end I went with my measurement and ordered a 5XL instead of a 3XL. I’m glad I did because it fits perfectly.I think this is a great muzzle to use for short periods such as vet visits, grooming etc, but would never, ever consider using it during exercise or when the weather is warm because the dog is unable to pant freely - if it was large enough for this it would be ineffective as a muzzle. A basket muzzle where the dog can open its mouth to pant and drink would be preferable in those circumstances, but not necessary in our case.

If you have a dog like mine get one of these I am now able to clean his eyes without being bitten would highly recommend

i dont want to make it a bad review as such as the actual quality of the muzzle was perfect, but as it said the size 5 is for rottweiler's/bullmastif's i was so happy as i'd been searching for over an hour... but my dog (who is a mastif runt!) so hes alot smaller than the average and i couldnt get it past his nose?? and as i kept trying different different ways incase i was doing something, but just as it was blocking his nose he couldnt even get his tongue out... the actual seller was very helpful but couldnt give me the one i wanted, or something bigger because they didnt really sell muzzle's and had no other sizes.. i sent it back.. (having to pay again for postage) i did get the refund back promtly... but im still not able to take my dog to the places i wanted to 4 months ago as i still dont have a muzzle for him and im down by a few pounds... all in all it was trouble i did not need, or anyone i suppose. its the point of internet shopping, to save time and money and to beat them dreaded cue's??
