Great Product & Wonderful Company!
I absolutely love this habitat cage for my Painted Lady Butterflies. I had 12 caterpillars in my care this time and the habitat I had been using for my butterflies was simply too small & had other other issues I really began to dislike. So, I decided to search for a better habitat this time around & decided on this particular one. VERY PLEASED WITH THIS HABITAT!! Absolutely everything I wanted and more. The two zippers on the side are absolutely awesome. Makes everything so much easier to do without disturbing the chrysalises. I really like having the vinyl side for a better view, plus it gives the option to have the vinyl side down for easier cleaning of any frass and meconium. Easily will fit a good amount of potted plants unlike the last habitat I had, which is just awesome. Easier to see through the mesh on this habitat as well compared to my previous habitat. Very well made and easy to fold back up when not in use. I really like the overall look of the habitat as well. I plan to buy again from this company again to get the 12x12x12 cube looking habitat next. I am very pleased with my purchase. The price and quality is absolutely amazing for this habitat. Myself and my butterflies are very satisfied with this purchase. Highly recommend buying from this company. I even liked they included a quick start guide for caring for your butterflies from eggs to butterfly phase. They also emailed me to let me know that if I had any questions or issues to please let them know and they would be glad to help. Always a good sign of a good company!

THE "PENTHOUSE" FOR YOUR BUTTERFLIES
I ordered the "Uncle Milton" butterfly habitat kit. Easy set-up, followed the directions, and when the butterflies emerged just this past week, I realized these little fellas needed more space. It arrived quickly (this afternoon). Easy set-up, ... larger than I had anticipated. Excellent quality with no fumes some have mentioned in their reviews. the transfer was easy with the extra large zippered panel, I was able to insert the whole "Uncle Milton habitat" into this new unit. As I slowly pulled back the net of the first domain, the butterflies flew out into their new "penthouse" where they'll remain until the clouds and showers here in Massachusetts dissipate over the next few days. The vinyl window on this item is like glass, allowing an easy to see large field of vision as to what the butterflies are up to. Note: they don't use cellphones, post on social web sights, but are attracted to my television, and appear to love anything on the screen concerning butterflies. Perhaps they wish they could have popcorn? This IS A MUST for anyone wanting to expand their butterfly propagation. It'll hold a large flowered pot of almost any flowering plant in which they can receive their nectar. Has two heavy duty carrying straps two top, a 2 toggle heavy duty zipper. The bottom is soft (collapsible) as the rest of the habitat, ... I've added a 15 x 15 panel of corrugated cardboard wrapped in a paper towel on the bottom, for the flowered pot I have in the habitat for the plants stability. I'm very happy with this product, and am very thankful I purchased it. I'm sure the butterflies feel the same way.

Nice size mesh cover for my herb garden, tall enough for growth.
WHY I WANTED A MESH HABITAT: I have an herb garden and when clipping some parsley for my dinner came across a caterpillar chomping away (Swallowtail). I then had an adult female swallowtail fluttering around my plant and proceeded to lay numerous eggs on the same parsley plant. I made a quick makeshift terrarium to house the caterpillar along with some clippings of the parsley plant and in the meantime I had ordered a small mesh habitat. When that arrived, I placed the entire parsley plant, pot and all, in the smaller habitat. I then noticed another caterpillar so brought all indoors so the grandkids could observe. REVIEW ON THIS MESH HABITAT: To protect my fresh parsley plant from any future caterpillar attacks, I had ordered this taller mesh habitat and bought another parsley plant to place inside the cage to keep the butterflies from further laying eggs on my new plant and destroying my garden herbs. Although this cage is placed outdoors, it is in a protected area on my patio so I am hoping it lasts for awhile. Since they are not that expensive and are a nice quality, I don't feel bad if I need to replace it down the road. The seller packaged it well, delivery was prompt, and price was very reasonable. I ordered the black mesh as I felt the white was too bright and distracting from a natural setting and I was right. It blends in nicely with its surroundings and doesn't detract from my other garden contents. If a potential buyer wants to use one of these to house caterpillars through the insect to butterfly steps, perhaps the white may be the better choice as it may be difficult to find the caterpillars/cocoons on a darker mesh. I definitely recommend the Restcloud brand as they are very well made and work just as intended. A WORD OF WARNING UPON OPENING HOWEVER, KEEP AWAY FROM YOUR FACE AS IT DOES SUDDENLY SPRING OPEN AND CAN GIVE QUITE A WALLOP IF NOT ALERT.

Perfect for Protecting Monarchs During Cold Weather
This habitat has been a lifesaver. I used it to safely protect monarchs I found while covering my butterfly garden in Florida during a recent cold snap. It’s lightweight, well made, and provides great airflow while keeping them protected. Easy to use and exactly what I needed for temporary shelter. Highly recommend for anyone helping butterflies through unexpected weather.

Good quality enclosures for hand-rearing butterflies and moths
I bought this pop up enclosure after finding Eastern Black Swallowtail eggs on some dill back in June. After raising our first round of swallowtails, we ended up with our second round, then our third. We now have nearly 90 eggs that we’re waiting on. This enclosure works well enough that we bought a second one for housing chrysalises to keep them separate from growing caterpillars and I expect that we will likely buy a third soon. We found that folding and unfolding the pop up is very similar to our circular reflectors used in photography, so they are easy to transport, quick to set up and compact when not in use. I’ve included a few photos with this review showing this pop up enclosure in use, for reference. I found that this enclosure is sturdy enough for our purposes, but can lean a bit as you’re opening and closing the zippers and the first one that we purchased is just a little warped. IMHO, it’s helpful to make sure that you have it on a level surface, as this minimizes rocking while opening and closing the door. As for clean up, stains can be removed fairly easy with a mild 95:5 water to bleach solution and this also helps prevent illness and diseases from spreading. I don’t know what impact a mild bleaching would have on the black version of the enclosure, but it works fine on the white versions. We have the white model with the green trim and also white with blue trim. For anyone looking to raise butterflies and/or moths, this is easier to use than pop up hampers and has a tighter mesh to help keep other insects out and small caterpillars in. You can see the tight weave of the mesh in the last of the photos I have attached to this review. Definitely recommended.

Fun for kids to view!
I started a vicious cycle of caring for Monarch caterpillars. Started with a few in my garden and I wanted to house them inside so they would stay safe and my young son could learn about them. Bought a few milkweed plants that apparently had more eggs and now I’m in over my head feeding an additional 16 mouths. However this enclosure has been perfect. The viewing window makes it easy to watch them. They are able to secure themselves at the top of the mesh. It’s easy to open and clean with the huge zippered side. Handles at the top for easy carrying and large enough for a gallon pot or larger to fit inside.

Good Buy!!
Great habitat for raising larvae into butterflies! I accidentally knocked down some milkweed in my yard. Of course, there were monarch eggs on the undersides of the leaves. I bought a few of these habitat cages to try to save the butterflies. The unit was extremely easy to unfold and it is a reasonable size. It comes with a zipper front that allows easy access to change out the milkweed stalks and clean up after the caterpillars. The habitat is tall, so the caterpillars have plenty of room to move about. The fabric is strong and allows for good ventilation. It does have to be on a solid surface and I cover the watering jar for the milkweed stalks to prevent caterpillars from accidentally falling into the water. I've successfully "raised" many monarchs, setting them free in my wildflower gardens after they emerge and dry off as butterflies. The habitat folds back up into a compact size for easy storage. There is no assembly or disassembly required. It looks nice and gives a good view of the caterpillars as they grow!

Excellent product
I Purchased this product to have at a nursing home where my Mother resides. I thought this would be something nice for the residence to experience. I never realized how this would impact the people there in such a positive way! Everyone checks it daily to see if we have a new caterpillar sighting or a new cocoon or a butterfly has emerged. The releasing of the butterflies is always an exciting event that they all love to watch. This is such a great project for all ages. Once you purchase the cage, there basically is no cost involved. Milk weed grows everywhere and it is very easy to clip off a branch or two every now and then to feed your hungry caterpillars. If you see a white dot on the back of the leaf, then you will most likely have a caterpillar emerge within the next 3 to 4 days which will start your whole process over again. It comes with a very cute booklet that explains what happens and how long each individual stage takes, along with exactly what to do, starting from finding leaves with tiny eggs, all the way through the butterfly emerging. I leave it out by the cage for all the residents to look at. This has been such a great little project. This cage is high-quality and I would recommend it. One of the sides is plastic for easier viewing, which is absolutely a genius idea. It makes it very easy for the residence to come up and look inside. This is extremely easy and an A+ in my book!
