The biggest drawback of the Flip 4 and 5 is the fragility of the hinge area. I've had to replace two because in both instances, a very small drop - once onto a padded area - destroyed the phone, even though it was in a case.I finally went back to an Otterbox, even though some reviews were negative. Very glad I did!Yes the volume buttons are tight. Yes they require some push. But I don't understand why anyone would find that such a drawback. This is a great case.

Updated review:I have bought this Otterbox case twice, once in September 2023 and then again in December 2023. One of the hinges on the cover that goes over the foldable part of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 broke. I am not rough on my phone, so I thought it may have been a one-off issue. I've always used Otterbox cases and always liked them, so I thought I will try again. Well, one of the hinges broke again! I will NOT be purchasing another Otterbox case for this phone. I am extremely disappointed in their lack of quality control; this flaw needs to be addressed, especially since these cases are quite expensive!

I'm really happy with this case. It fits great, looks nice, and I haven't had any of the quality issues mentioned in other reviews. I like that it lays flat unlike other cases, and it has good grip unlike other cases. My one complaint is that it doesn't come with the hard belt clip like OtterBox for other phone models. It'd be nice to have one that snaps over the exterior screen when closed to provide full protection.

Clips on hinge break within a couple months. This is second one. Never dropped phone.

I received this 10 days ago. Is a snug fit and protected the phone well. Today I tried to take it off to clean the phone and one of the hinges snapped off (see picture). It won't keep the case from protecting the phone, I think, but it does compromise the integrity. I'm disappointed, especially since Otterbox is a brand with integrity.**Update**3 months later, the hinge cover completely snapped off. The first of the hinge holders (pictured) snapped off after 10 days. By the end of the first month, another on the other side had broken, but it still held until today. I'm really disappointed in this purchase. The only thing this case did well was protect my phone from cracking or breaking when dropped. But now that the hinge isn't protected, it can't be trusted.

Like some of the reviews here this case broke after about 6 months of regular use. The issue like others have stated seem to be the hinge where a small bit (like a small dot/bump) of plastic is what allows the hinge to swing open and close. It feels that as the fit is very tight it ends up putting heavy strain on the small bump section and ends up breaking completely off as seen in the photos.Contacted Otterbox support via their website and notified them over the case breaking and they shipped me another one for the price of shipping and handling (around $10). I've placed an image with an arrow where the break happens on the new case received. Here's hoping this one lasts cause if it breaks again I don't feel like spending another $10 to try a third time. 3 stars overall since warranty provided a new case even if I had to pay for shipping. Make sure you contact Otterbox support if you ordered thru Amazon and your case breaks.

I like that it protects the hell outta my phone, but it does feel very bulky. Material is great though. Color is same as in picture.

I know 3 people who bought this case and all of them including myself had the same thing happen, the hinges on the case fall apart. Crap quality too, never buying otter box again. Now seeking full refund from otterbox as they only want to do exchanges.

Not sure if common or not but one of the hinge pins has already snapped off just over a month in. Got the case Oct 23, and it broke today, Nov 29.

Bien construit, mais comme tout les produits otterbox, très chère pour se qu'on obtient...Ne faite pas comme moi, j'ai pris cette couleur en attendant de trouver la couleur noir, mais se n'est pas violet, c'est juste un gros rose, pas le choix de le retourner mais sinon me semble solide, bien construit et prêt à protéger un téléphone

I haven't dropped my phone at all but the left hinge is already broken with a small piece of plastic sticking out. I expected so much more for spending this much on an otterbox case no less. I thought they were supposed to last years but it barely lasted a month. It's too bad too because the fit on the phone and the sturdiness feels so nice that I would have loved to keep using this. I was thinking it was just mine and I would just buy another but I'm seeing the same hinge part broken on other's reviews too so now I shop for a different case entirely.
