A wonderful addition to my kitchen
I was so excited to order these since I was working on remodeling my kitchen and the earth tone dish set I had was not going to work with the gray, white and black color scheme I was going to be using.I love that this is a 8-piece place setting and doesn't come with cups and saucers (because who needs coffee service anymore?). I love the durability and weight of these plates. They are well made, hefty and sturdy and hold up very well in the dishwasher and microwave. I absolutely love the 3 different bowl types. It has been wonderful to have a decent selection depending on what we are eating. Having an ideal size choice for cereal, soup, ice cream or other "bowl" foods has been awesome.I'm a big fan of the simple design. These are absolutely perfect for daily use, but also work in a more formal setting due to their simplicity. They don't distract from a more ornate tablescape.I am very pleased with the Mikasa brand and although these are on the more expensive side, the quality is top notch. I would definitely recommend these.

Heavy dinner set - looks nice enough but not really fancy
I ordered these to replace a well used set that my kids have helped eliminate some of them through dropping so these were needed. This is a nice set and the only thing I do wish they had was smaller plates to go along with it.It comes with 3 different size bowls and the normal large dinner plate. These are a lot heavier than my old set and a lot thicker. That may or may not be a good thing for some people depending on taste. For me, I wish they were a bit lighter but they aren't insanely heavy either. The design on these are basic and not very fancy. There are a few flaws in the material but not that noticeable and obviously most are covered up with food.Overall, for the price of this entire set for 8 these are priced well and the quality is good enough. They aren't fancy looking but work well and the variety of bowls is nice. It would be nicer if there was a smaller dessert plate with this set.

Beautiful setting, and very heavy duty
I did not know that Mikasa made more than crystal, so when I saw this set of plates and bowls; I had to give them a try! This set is sold at Costco for a bit more so the price point is good.On arrival, the first thing I noticed was the weight/heft of these. The box is 43 pounds and when you open it up, you see why. Each plate is big enough to house a large serving and the edge has just enough of a lip that sauces won’t spill out over the side. The next size bowl is an excellent dinner soup bowl and has the same weight and quality as the plate. It is a little shallow to be a cereal bowl for my linking but it could function as that. The next size bowl is PERFECT for ice cream. 3 scoops with some items on top fit perfectly in this bowl. The last size bowl is big enough to use for dipping sauces and/or side items if you want something bigger than a ramuken. The pattern on the set is beautiful and vibrant and the fact that these are dishwasher safe is an added bonus!Overall, we are very impressed with this set! A smaller plate substituted for the largest size bowl would be ideal in my opinion but definitely not a deal breaker. We now use these as our “good” set of plate and bowls as opposed to everyday use.

Decent set
I really want to love this set, and as individual pieces, I do. It's nice and heavy. The bowls are interesting. The cereal bowl is a little too small for a cereal bowl. The pasta bowl though is just a little too small to be used for a pasta bowl, but has sides too small to be used for cereal or soup. It's most likely a set that is geared towards the international crowd which has smaller portion sizes. The design of the set is nice, and while imperfections should be expected, they shouldn't make it as difficult to clean, which at least a few of the plates do. For the overall cost of the set, I can't say that it's a worthwhile investment.

Great dinner set!
These are nice and thick as well as pretty hefty in weight. The design is very nice as well. They also feel like good quality dinnerware that should last. These would make either a great gift or a nice set if you are starting out with a new home.Definitely recommend.

very disappointing quality, every piece has flaws!
The media could not be loaded. The "Mikasa Logan Blue 32 Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 8" looked nice as long as it was in the box. there was one broken plate even so the set was well packaged. Since the listing stated that the dishes are dishwasher safe I stacked them in there. We use a very gentle non-abrasive organic dishwasher liquid for all our good China. What came out of the wash was very disappointing. On some pieces the rim cracked, on others it showed that the glaze was not applied evenly, and on all of them you can see dimples and divets and defects. They are all speckled with them. This is not a regular Mikasa quality set for $186!!! this looks like a $20 wal mart special. As a Vine reviewer i am stuck with and incomplete, defect showing expensive set of dishes. My husband does not want to use them, especially not the ones where the rim is cracking.

Lots of Bowls
I like that this dinnerware set ditches the cup and saucers of traditional sets. That’s something that we almost never use and that just takes up valuable cupboard space. The small fruit bowls might end up with the same dusty fate but only time will tell. I like that the salad plates are replaced with shallow pasta bowls which will also work perfect for salads. Much more versatile. These went through the dishwasher and were used in the microwave just fine and as advertised. The set is Stoneware so expect some imperfections (part of their charm) and some weight and heft to them. I got the blue and it’s beautiful. Very happy with this set and I can finally through out the old cups and saucers along with my previous mid matched set

Nice set of Dinnerware
Great quality. I always get this brand when on sale at Costco. Had the opportunity of getting this set here and I am pleased with it so far. They do look good (IMO) and it is nice to have a bigger set than the ones I used to get. I can keep half stored and then bring it out when there are visitors.
