How much do the laptop itself weigh?

Its a little heavier than an average laptop, the thing is its has much better internals, large graphic card etc. but easy carry.

my son (13) is looking for laptop for gaming, mainly plays fortnight at moment. Aswell as school work. Will this do the job? He has less than £1k.

For sure it works to both proposals. My only concern is about the weight.

Mine has a uk keyboard (backlit) Windows is preloaded no disc. with webcam microphone headphone jack HDMI port 3 usb 1 ethernet sd card reader socket. There is no CD / DVD drive on this machine.
