I was looking for a simple, kind of modern-looking, yet durable MagSafe phone mount for an iPhone, mainly while teaching a teenager how to drive and to not touch his phone - it's in your line of sight, you will live for 20 minutes of no interaction LOL (and also got it for me, I mean it's my car). It magnetizes to both my MagSafe phone case and MagSafe socket, and the strength is pretty darn good. Every time I remove my phone, the socket is still left on the Belkin. I had both this non-charging Belkin and the charging Belkin that I was looking into. I saw reviews of the other Belkin wireless car charger but the reviews weren't really too positive as far as charging goes and stated that the charge wasn't that great or it didn't charge quickly or it eventually lost charge completely. I already have phone cords in my vehicle so TBH that wasn't really a feature I needed - I just needed a phone mount that I didn't have to un/screw into my air vents, didn't have four sides to it that had to hold your phone in place, was plastic & cheap - I wanted MagSafe only. I also did not want a mount with any sticky stuff that goes on your window or your dashboard. I'm a simple kinda gal. I want simple stuff. Belkin delivered. The size was discreet, although having an air vent mount will always block some portion of your air/air vent, that is expected and I'm totally fine with that. Belkin has a shorter top area and a longer bottom so it succeeded in not blocking my air vent too bad (which are vertical). If anything, the position of the MagSafe on my phone is what made the phone block the air/vent. The gray prongs that go into your vent.... Now, I was going to give this one star off but changed my mind (really should only be a half of a star) and not because I'm disappointed with the product itself or because of Belkin's design flaws per se. So, the gray prong that goes into your vent is silicone. That part is fantastic! No slipping at all while driving. The only time the prongs come off the vent is when I try to pull my phone off the mount too hard when I'm getting out/done, if I pull my phone to the side/in a sideways manner, the mount stays in place. They made the prongs a little too short. It would probably help just a little if the prongs were a tad bit longer, but I can understand why they didn't risk that because some vehicles have air vents with shorter panels and some with longer so it's better to just fit all vehicles by making the prongs short, I guess. The prongs are attached to what I call a rotator cuff (yes, it was fitting to give that name). That rotator cuff obviously moves in a circular motion but it sure as heck needs some WD40 because when I try to adjust the Belkin to accomodoate my air flow, the rotator cuff will sometimes not move and the prongs just remove themselves from the air vent. Did that make sense? You see why I was interested in longer prongs? Maybe that would have helped. Maybe not. I can still move the rotator cuff but in doing so, I have to push the Belkin into the vent and then adjust the position. Hope that was easy to understand. That was really the only issue I had with it, but nonetheless, it is a such a great product, I am a happy customer that I found Belkin (no idea why I settled on cheap flimsy options before a review of another product brought me to Belkin's page) but hey... I will definitely be a returning customer.

Honestly, that's on me; I didn't read the product details carefully before buying. This is made specifically for an iPhone with MagSafe, so if you have an Android, it won't work the same way. The mount itself looks great and seems really sturdy so iPhone users should be happy with

I got the iPhone 12 Pro & my other magnetic car mounts just wouldn't hold it because it's made from stainless steel & is heavier. Apple sells this model so I checked it out on Amazon because I knew it wouldn't be a hassle to return it if I wasn't happy with it. The reviews were pretty divided on whether it worked well or not. When I received it, at first it didn't grab my IPhone case (I have the iPhone 12 Pro silicone case from Apple) but then I realized I had the mount upside down. When the mount is correctly positioned and about 2/3 of the way down on the case, it grabbed really well! I like that the part that slides over the vents fits snugly and can be turned either vertically or horizontally depending on the direction the vents are running in your particular vehicle & I could still keep my iPhone vertical. When I turned a corner, the vents slid to the right or left sometimes with that heavy iPhone on it, but that's a vehicle issue, not the mount's fault and the iPhone didn't slide off at all. Very happy with my purchase!

The MagSafe attachment is solid as this is Apple-specified and this feels v. strong. It handles my 15 Pro Max easily, no vibration or worries in hard cornering. However, it's so strong that it can overwhelm the fairly short fingers that grab the vent when I pull the phone off the mount. This will likely depend a lot of your vent design. Even adjusting the pivot on the mount to orient the phone can move the fingers (does sometimes your map not pivot to horizontal on the mount after you input your dest? while holding it?). This is something to pay attention to with any vent mount, I suppose. Since mounting is fairly fussy, it makes me not want to take it off when I leave the car. But it also looks nice, expensive, in aluminum, and might be a target for thieves. So I want to remove it when parked. That brings up another potential issue. If you have a shallow center console, the depth of the pivot mount makes it deeper (even with the stubby fingers) than you might expect. So then it's the glovebox. And who has room for anything else there? Side pocket? Too big to go under the lid. But it doesn't work at all as any kind of desk stand, so no reason to take it with, the other option. Probably wouldn't be an issue in my truck, which has more storage space than my small car. First world problems.

I LOVE THIS ! I had the sticky type of phone mount and let me tell you that having this one it’s sooooo much better will not ruined the leather of your dash , I had the sticky one for like a week and I’m glad I switched when I took it off there was a dent already on it ! It works great and it keeps your phone from overheating since is in the vent , I have an iPhone 15 pro max and holds well the weight of it , easy to mount and very clean and elegant design.

Great product! Bought not knowing exactly if it would work as needed and it did that and more. It fit in the vent with little to no pressure on the vent and held the phone like cement. I never had to worry about the phone falling or moving on a road trip. It's sturdy, small and sleek.

Note that this thing is only a holder. It has no charging capabilities of its own, so for that you'd need to plug a cable directly into the phone itself. Belkin does offer other models with built-in MagSafe charging. I'm using this model to mount an iPhone 13 Mini on the passenger side of the center dashboard vents in a 2016 Volvo XC60. If I had a Belkin model with MagSafe charging, I'd still need a separate USB cable any time I wanted a wired data connection. The holder is simple to install, just push it all the way into a vent. You may need to fiddle a bit to make sure the weight of the phone does not pull the vent down from your desired viewing position. Make sure the holder is all the way in. The "integrated cable management" slot on the back is too narrow or stiff to easily accommodate my USB-to-lightning cable. My cable looks like the kind Apple provides with new iPhones (that is, the kind with a white rubbery jacket, not a soft braided jacket). A thinner cable, or one with a different kind of insulation jacket, should work fine. The plastic holder doesn't seem sturdy enough to survive being dropped on a hard surface (not that I've tried). I suppose it's sturdy enough for the intended purpose. So far, it has held the phone just fine for a couple drives. It easily swivels between portrait and landscape positions. Summing up: it's a handy device. I'm glad to have it, although at the current full retail price ($39.99) IMO it is way overpriced for what it is.

I decided to try the MagSafe Belkin case on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, even though I usually use the traditional mount without MagSafe. While the MagSafe case adds a sleek and stylish look to the car vent, it falls short in terms of providing reliable functionality as a car mount. It holds the phone securely, but it lacks the strength of traditional mounts that come with an additional lever to ensure a tight grip on the vent. At times, the Belkin MagSafe mount works fine, but other times it fails to keep the phone in place, requiring constant adjustments. After removing the phone and reattaching it, the mount tends to come off along with the phone, which can be frustrating. This results in the convenience of MagSafe being lost due to the need for frequent readjustments. The breaking point for me was when I attempted to put the phone on the mount, and it fell off because it wasn't properly aligned with the magnet. Aligning the phone precisely or confirming alignment before letting go of the phone proved to be a cumbersome task. I had expected the magnet to be strong enough to automatically pull the phone into the correct position, but that was not the case. In light of these issues, I decided to return the MagSafe mount. If you're comfortable with making these constant adjustments and prioritize an Apple-standard appearance, it may be a suitable choice. However, if functionality is your primary concern, there are far more reliable traditional mounts available in the market.

Despite the fact that this mount has been released quite a long time ago, it is perfectly compatible with Iphone 17 pro magsafe cases. Since the entire back of the mount is covered with rubber, the bottom of the mount can safely rest against the interior trim and remove the weight load from the ventilation grilles. The phone holds firmly while driving, does not shake, can be rotated both portrait and landscape. According to some comments, I do not understand how the phone can fall out, perhaps a magsafe case with poor-quality magnets is used. Just do not buy the cheapest cases. The mount has been tested and is used in a VW Passat B8 car. Carplay is wired, a cable is connected for data transfer/charging anyway, so there is no point in using the wireless charging version. The only suggestion for manufacturers is to consider a darker version of the mount, which would be more likely to blend in with some interiors. But since the tested one itself is visually appealing, like an Apple product, it certainly doesn't spoil the look in the car :)
