I had to remove the tassel it makes it look childish.

I fully expected this item to be fashioned from cheap, ‘costume-grade’ materials, so I was greatly (and pleasantly) surprised to find this was not the case. The hat is made from a heavy, pliable cloth that greatly resembles suede leather. The crown pattern is machine embroidered in five colours. The upper stiching is hidden by an embroidered roll. The crown tassel is nylon, and just the right length; long enough, but no so long as to be a nuisance.The interior of the hat is fully lined, and has a small pocket sewn onto the crown. The hat is fully adjustable with a hidden velcro strip from 7.5” to ‘tiny’, though the smaller range might yield a bit of visible binding on the outside.I am very satisfied with this item. It is a FAR cry from the usual flimsy ware that is fobbed-off on Potter Fans, actually reaching ‘keep-sake’ quality.All that’s needed, is a bit of your very own magic!

This hat is very comfortable to wear, and its embroidery is beautiful. The Cost vs Value of this item, makes it a must buy. You get a secret pocket sewn into the head lining, where you can put your tobacco, candy, snuff, and any host of other personal treasures.It has an adjustable band inside so it fits my 7.5 size (60cm) head easily.

It looks very good, an dit fits my head well - my head circumference is 23.5 and it fits fine except it is a little too big. I tried making it sit tighter with the Velcro strip located inside, but then the shape becomes a little too narrow at the bottom and going wider to the top, which looks less impressive, so I kept it untightened. It still sits well.CONS: My dissatisfaction comes from the observation that it is all synthetic and my head overheats in it. I intended to use it as a Hebrew style Kippah and wear it for hours and overheating and sweating prevents a longer use. I would still use it for short ceremonial occasions, but not for longer. Hebrew kippahs are usually made from natural materials or materials which absorb water and thus make it comfortable to wear all day long.Also, if you looks at Dumbledoor's hat, it is well-worn weathered, as it should and this looks new. I wonder if I should use an automatic washer, maybe a few washes whill make it look more weathered.

(You will find this review in two places: costumes and toys. This isn't really a "toy" and I thought I'd put my review here, too, for those who might be trying to decide. My "fun" rating is for adults, and maybe middle school Harry Potter fans. It'll be boring for younger kids and adolescents.)I bought one of these just for fun. I've found it to be of high quality. I'm a college teacher, and now that I've seen it, I'm trying to decide whether I have enough gumption to wear it instead of a mortar board at commencement. It'd be a kick, but might get um, kicked, by the Dean. Maybe I'll wear it with my academic robes at Hallowe'en.I have {ahem} a fat head, and this fits. I was afraid it would be very tight, but it's not; the hidden size adjuster allows it to fit my head. It looks like it would adjust to fit anyone. Another reviewer commented on the tassel; it is what an academic type would call "science gold." That's a little orange-ish, but it's not Clemson orange, or anything close.It's not a "costume piece," it's a high-quality piece of clothing. It is very much worth the price charged. (I probably would be careful about getting it wet, though.) Buy, wear, enjoy!

Perfect addition for a dumbledore costume. However it is more of a green color but it still worked and looked great.

The material was a little more flimsy than expected. Would have been nice if had adjustable size and not “one size fits all… it doesn’t. But it’s a nice hat for my magic act
