Metolius, Ropemaster HC Bag

One of my climbing friends and I both use this bag, and it's served us very well. When your rope is coiled, the bag packs very snugly. The metal clips slide in easily and stay in place while I carry the bag with the adjustable shoulder strap. The tarp flap is easy to pull out and pack back in, too. Speaking of the tarp, there is a small plastic "window" on it for whatever reason. I''m not exactly sure what purpose it serves, so I kinda wish it weren't there. Even though the bag is blue, it somehow doesn't attract dirt like my other friend's black bag. Weird but good! Lastly, the tightening cord around the rim of the bag has a plastic clip that can lock in the open position to make it move smoother along the cord for tightening. It's nice!Overall, this is a basic and fundamentally-sound rope bag at an affordable price!

This is the second ropemaster bag that I have from Metolius. The first one I bought about 2 years ago and it's still in perfect condition even with regular use. I just bought another rope and my local climbing store was sold out of these, they're very popular locally.These are slim profile enough to wear over your shoulder for a quick crag trip, and the side handle lets your drop it in to a bigger pack for longer approaches. I also just store my ropes in these bags year round. There is a clear window in the bag so you know which rope you're grabbing, a little gimmicky but I actually quite like that about this bag. The roll out tarp that's attached keeps the rope out of the dirt and rocks, I can't say enough about this product. If you need a rope bag, buy it.

I have been climbing for 15 years and this is the best rope bag I have used so far. No complaints. Highly recommended. Fits my 70m 9.9mm rope with room for a harness and shoes as well.
