Performance and quality
I bought this hub for my laptop with a Type C port, lacks Ethernet and only has one USB3.0 port. This hub is perfect to solve most of my connectivity needs! It is well built, no shiny plastics here: instead, you get an aluminium case. The cable is well done too, with a rubber coating. It plugs in a standard Type C port (no Thunderbolt required) and fits good.Does not require any driver or installation at all at least on Windows 10. Uses a Realtek chipset for the Ethernet connectivity.TESTINGI had tested this hub in two scenarios:1. Upload/download Ethernet without USB ports being used2. Upload/download Ethernet with one USB transfer1. This is a pretty standard iperf3 test. I tested upload and download to verify the network capabilities of this hub. Most of these devices cannot reach actual 1 Gb/s speed and stop much earlier. Choetech, however, does not disappoint: it reaches values that are close to the limits of Gigabit Ethernet. I observed 926 Mb/s in download and 939 Mb/s in upload (note that 945 is the actual limit).2. This is the same iperf3 test, but at the same time I was transferring one file of 1 GB from an external HDD connected to the hub to the computer's SSD. USB transfers were pristine: my drive can reach 115 MB/s read speed, and that has always been delivered.During this test there some slowdowns occurred: ethernet download dropped from 926 Mb/s to 886 Mb/s, whilst upload remained pristine to 936 Mb/s.This particular case is just a test to show the hub's limits and it's quite hard to apply in a real usage.Screenshots of the tests are attached.Considering the price of this hub, you cannot ask for more: it's well built and has very good performance. Recommended!

Just brilliant
I have a 16 inch MacBook Pro that for too long has been reliant on external hard drives for data storage, meaning it's constantly bound to a desk by cables. I eventually bought a Synology NAS to act as centralised file storage, and needed to transfer the data from my external drives over to the NAS. I began doing so over wifi, but quickly realised that wifi speeds aren't exactly blistering even with a high end router. The single time machine backup of the MacBook itself, a little over a terabyte, was scheduled to take over 5 days to complete. To cut to the chase I started looking for an ethernet adapter so I could make the initial transfers in hours and not days. Thought they were quite overpriced until I found this, which has the advantage of a few extra USB 3 ports and a gigabit ethernet adapter which is exactly what I wanted.I plugged it in and it was recognised immediately by macOS and connected straight away. The speeds are now sufficient to saturate the network, achieving over 100 megabytes per second in both reading and writing to the NAS. Now I can actually use the NAS as I had hoped, accessing files over WiFi when the MacBook is used off the desk with the option of plugging in when I want the speed. It's actually faster than the Western Digital My Passport USB hard drives which average about 70MB/S read and write. To top it off it's small enough that it can be taken on the road with the MacBook, with the benefit of ethernet and USB all in a single adapter. COuldn't be happier with it and will buy a couple more to keep around just in case.

Worked for less than a year then stopped working.
REVIEW UPDATE (5/3/21) I contacted the seller and they were very helpful. They checked it was a genuine purchase, then offered to send a replacement. When I said I had bought something else they offered a refund, so it seems only fair to mention this, and add another star. (END UPDATE)(ORIGINAL REVIEW): It worked fine while it worked, but...A serious negative is that this product can only be returned within a month of purchase. I bought mine in June 2020, yet here we are in March 2021 and it simply stopped working. Less than a year but I have now opting but to throw it away.I understand that tech fails sometimes, but to refuse returns after just a month is unacceptable. Caveat Emptor. I've gone for a new product with a better customer service guarantee.

Worked ok for about 5-6 weeks, then ethernet function stopped working
Worked well OOTB with 2x USB 2.5" HDD's and Ethernet. Internet was good, worked as advertised and consistently. Started showing intermittent Ethernet dropouts (laptop switched to WiFi) and now i have no Ethernet function through the adapter. Checked environment with my stand alone dell Ethernet adapter and everything works there. Have contacted the seller for advise or warranty as it's outside of the 30 day returns window.Edit: seller provided replacement under warranty without any issue. Arrived very quickly. Amended review to reflect quality of after sales service.

Perfect for Surface GO 2
Got a bunch of these to deploy in a professional environment using Surface GO 2's for warehousing and logistics. I specifically wanted something that didn't have anything that wasn't required - like HDMI, USB-C or SD reader, and with enough type A USB's for label printers and 2D scanner. Have't tested the ethernet yet, but I don't see there being any issues - pretty standard. I did have to buy USB-C extention cables for my installation as I wanted an elbowed connector to keep cables tidy, but it isn't required.

Compact and high quality build
Great and nifty device for those who need more USB sockets which is quite common amongst top-end PC's and Mac's. It has a short cable so it won't take up any space on your desk, the design is sleek, lightweight, compact and feels sturdy enough to take accidental damage. Been using it non-stop since the moment I got it. It has an ethernet cable as well, however, in my instance I haven't had the need to use it. It works like a charm. Recommend.

Brilliant product, works exactly as advertised and the Gigabit Ethernet hits full speeds
I brought this product to connect up my laptop to wired Ethernet, to connect to my home server, and to connect up my scanner and a few other items. The type C hub works perfectly at the job, doesn't require external power and gives me 110MB/s copying from my home server (saturating Gigabit speeds). I am very happy with the performance, looks and durability so far.
