Update: How did I survive tap water without this! This filter system is wonderful. I love that I know how much water I am drinking each time and each day. The odor is gone and the taste is better than bottled water and I am not putting more plastic into the environment. Win for me, win for ecology. Can I do 10 stars? Have used it for 24 hours only but love this. I was concerned that Amazon indicated that this was frequently returned for refund, but ordered it knowing that I could return it if necessary. Most poor ratings noted leakage. I think they didn't set the filter in properly personally. I prefer to drink tap water rather than paying for bottled water, much of it is just filtered tap water anyhow. But the community I just moved to over-chlorinates the water and the smell and taste are awful. This filtering system works amazing at filtering out the chlorine! Hopefully it is filtering out contaminants also as promised. I love the ability to use the preset dispensing amounts or to just push and release for cups/glasses that hold less water. Quick to set up. Easy to use. The reservoir holds a sufficient amount of water for my daily use. And the price was right.

After 26 months (24 month warranty), the plastic white flow valve at the bottom of the tank no longer seals and water will leak. I now have to fill the tank every time I want to dispense water, then empty the tank again. The filter hub works fine, but Brita doesn't offer replacement flow valves or tanks. I can try to find some kind of larger diameter silicone gasket to possibly fit over the drain port, instead of filling and emptying on every use now. I don't even think the hub paid itself back on the savings compared to shorter life pitcher water filters prices.

I bought this in April of 2024, so I’ve had it a while and feel I can give a good honest review. I also bought a 3 pack of replacement filters at the same time. Now- I drink a lot of water every single day. I have a 64 ounce jug and a 40 ounce jug. One holds my sugar free everything free Lemonade, the other holds my “Bubble” water …. I put water in a SodaStream bottle, put in fridge to get cold- then bubble it. I add Crystal Light Strawberry Pineapple flavor drops- all 0 carbs/sugar etc. Before I go on- the water from our tap is absolutely horrible. (It smells like Chlorine from a pool- VERY strong odor, and tastes disgusting) I put that water in my Brita Hub, then filter it to the SS bottles, then to the fridge. The difference in taste is UNBELIEVABLE. We can’t smell any chemicals whatsoever. That is a huge deal for me. I have many health issues- Cancer being one of them. I would choke and get sick drinking tap water. Even adding flavor drops didn’t hide that smell. I was severely dehydrated, and my blood tests were off the charts (severe low potassium and magnesium from vomiting/diarrhea). My hair is growing back and it’s healthy. My skin doesn’t feel like sandpaper, and my nails are getting back to normal. The nausea I had every day- I only get every so often, mostly medication induced. I drink 3-4 of my 64 ounce jugs a day, and 2-3 of my 40 ounce jugs a day. That’s around 300-400 OUNCES of water per day. (No I have not had water poisoning yet- I know when to back off lol) I write all this because I want you to know that this Brita Hub gets used a lot, every day…by myself and by my husband. It gets a lot of use. Do I replace the filter more often than every 6 months? Absolutely, between 3-4 months. I don’t care- this works so well for us, I’m happy to replace the filter more often. Has any part of my machine leaked or broke? It hasn’t leaked one little bit, and nothing has broke. Is the machine loud? Really? Turning my water on to fill this is louder! I can’t believe anyone would complain about noise. My only “issue” is I wish the water container was bigger. As much as we drink- it would be nice to be able to filter more water and not have to fill the container so many times. If Brita came out with a Hub that has a larger water container- I would buy it in a minute. Friends that come over bring their own water jugs and fill them with our Brita water- so that has to say something for the water this filter system puts out. We LOVE our Brita Hub. Period.

Update 8/8/23: The hub is stil working as expected. The filter lasts 60-75 days for family of 4. I think it under delivered. I think it is a 4 star product considering this one issue. However I am still sold on overall capability and ready access to clean water. Original Review: Water filter pitchers and faucet filters are great portable water purification devices - first because they are much more affordable than the under sink gadgetry and second, it is easily transportable. Because of the low capital cost, they do not need serious thought about buying. However, they have two SERIOUS problems: 1.) the filter needs frequent replacement and every time it take a lot of time to do the initial rinse 2.) the water is not available immediately- as you might have noticed; the better the filter quality, the more it takes to filter the water This brilliant design from Brita takes care of both issues. 1.) the filter is designed to last much longer - six months at the least - even with clouded muddy water 2.) best part - the filtration is immediate As you can see in the picture it can easily fit a tall 20 oz bottle as well as 12 oz small tumbler Further, I compared this with a regular RO filter. Though, there are many benefits of RO that I wouldn’t list here , let me list a few things in favor of Brita. 1.) it doesn’t filter all minerals - I felt this water tastier than the regular tap water or RO. 2.) it is cheaper than most brand RO systems 3.) it is portable ( STILL) 4.) it is ONE filter unit ( compared to 2 or 3 for most ROs) 5.) it is easy to use - my 6 year old can easily get her water by pressing a button. It is much harder to tilt the smallest Brita pitcher 6.) the filter is 3rd party certified and removes most of the bad stuff ( like chlorine) 7.) personally, I do not like the idea of sanitizing the water to the extent of distilled water and I hate the idea of adding *certain minerals after distilling the water 8.) I don’t have to throw away residue water like RO systems - it is ultimately a waste of water. 9.) it is much faster than RO and I don’t need a separate large reservoir. The Brita task can fill 4 20z bottles completely and then some more. I think, this product would be a good fit for most households with family.
