Product Description Under the Dome, a new 13-episode miniseries based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel, is the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers about the dome, where it came from and if and when it will go away. .com Stephen King's popular fantasy-thriller Under the Dome makes a largely successful leap to weekly television series, as evidenced by this first-season set. Overseen by a host of high-profile creative figures, from King himself and Steven Spielberg (both executive producers) to Lost veterans Brian K. Vaughan (credited as series creator) and Jack Bender, Under the Dome expands considerably on King's central premise of a small town in Maine that finds itself cut off from the world by an invisible, impenetrable dome. Tasked with making order out of this sudden chaos is a cross-section of everyday citizens, including former Special Forces vet Dale (Mike Vogel), newspaper editor Julia (Rachelle Lefevre), newly minted sheriff Linda (Natalie Martinez), and scientifically inclined teen Joe (Colin Ford), as well as Machiavellian used car dealer Big Jim (Dean Norris of Breaking Bad) and his deranged son (Alexander Koch). Tension builds at an agreeably brisk clip over the course of the debut season's 13 episodes as forces outside the dome attempt to break through while residents trapped inside struggle to make sense of their fates while contending with the growing and insidious influence of Big Jim and his son. Expanding the already sizable Dome (one of King's longest written works) into series format has its pros and cons: characters are given more time to develop, and many of the changes made to the book's premise--most notably to several characters and the nature of the dome itself--are mostly positive ones, and the large cast capably handles the material, with Norris and character actors Leon Rippy (Deadwood), Mare Winningham, and Ned Bellamy, all in recurring roles, taking the lion's share of the laurels. On the downside, however, the story feels stretched thin over the course of 13 episodes instead of a miniseries length: certain characters' actions feel shaped by the need to extend their arcs (sheriff Linda and Koch's Junior, for example), and key discoveries that would normally change the direction of the main storyline are left dangling, undoubtedly to be addressed at a later date/season. Dialogue too remains a consistent weak spot, and may put off casual viewers drawn in by the considerable attention and high ratings generated during Dome's initial network run. As it stands, Dome is a good if not great King adaptation--certainly better than most of the TV efforts to translate his work--but the jury remains out on whether it can hold its own over the course of multiple seasons. Extras on the four-disc Under the Dome set are substantial and vary from behind-the-scenes material to viral content. The show's inception and production is chronicled in several lengthy and detailed featurettes, including the 29-minute "Filming the Pilot," which features interviews with Vaughn and most of the major on- and behind-the-camera talent, as well as numerous moments with King himself. The author is also featured in his own extra, which pairs him with longtime friend and fellow author Michael Connelly for a brief read-through of the book's opening chapter and discussion of the show's expansion of the source material. "The First Season" adds considerable making-of detail for all 13 episodes, while "From Novel to Series" and "The World of Under the Dome" cover writing and casting and location work, respectively. Less compelling is "Joe's Blog," a series of 11 text and video posts generated by Ford's character, while the de rigueur gag reel and deleted scenes are, for the most part, forgettable. Three-plus minutes of promotional spots round out the wealth of supplements. --Paul Gaita

Under The Dome Limited Col Ed is an excellent way to memorialize a great TV series
The TV series is great. Great story, great acting, overall a terrific show that hooks you and keeps you absorbed and entertained throughout. Nice character development and an engaging storyline that makes you want more. Read the other online reviews to determine if want to watch this series. I want to talk about the Limited Collector's Edition packaging for the Blu-ray discs. Now the Limited Col Ed comes packaged in a "Snow Globe" that supposed to represent the impenetrable force field dome surrounding the town of the shows keepsake, Chester's Mill. First off this is NOT a snow globe. There are no snow particles suspended in a transparent liquid that will float around when shook up. It is just a ceramic "super-deformed" model of the town with some of the key locations featured. The dome is screwed on to a heavy ceramic base. This base contains the Blu-ray discs of the series held in paper sleeves. The dome half looks amazing, but again it is NOT a scaled down replica of the town of Chester's Mill. Only some of the buildings and locations are modeled and they are "deformed". The dome and base half are surprisingly heavy so be careful. It is not that obvious which direction (clockwise/counterclockwise) that you have to move the dome and base to unlock and seperate the two halves, but there is always trial and error. Some more care needed to be made in manufacturing the dome section. What I thought was a "butterfly cocoon" inside the dome, upon closer inspection was a piece of styrofoam that got trapped inside during its assembly. I wish they would have used some cardboard for the disc sleeves, instead of paper because they rip quite easily. Although you do not have to worry about scratching the discs when using the paper. This whole package came in a form fitted styrofoam that conformed to the "dome globe" and could seperate along the vertical axis. Unfortunately that made a huge mess of little styrofoam bits when unpackaging this so expect some cleanup later. Still a small price to pay for those that like Collector Editions of movies and TV shows.

SHOW ROCKS! FIGURINE NOT!
5 STARS as in I love the new show but the Limited Edition Dome figurine is poorly made and plain junkfor the high price. It's never gone down in cost and what I find incredible is that Amazon is getting it returned so much it gets pulled. And then released again. The audacity is that they have never fixed the issues and have the nerve to sell the returned Dome's "AS NEW".Shame on Amazon for doing this. As a Prime member I find it lousy and dishonest!5 STARS for the new series even though it doesn't follow the book. King directed the second season premiere and sat down for the new season table reads! He likes it and plays a part in it's development!

Much bigger than I would have guessed! Amazing detail for a Blu-ray set and worth every penny! A++++++
I love this set. I was pleasantly shocked to see how big it actually was and with the detail being amazing. I would almost buy this just for the collectors aspect and look of the set. It's just a bonus knowing that you actually get a Blu-ray set too...ha-ha.The discs are housed securely within the set and the whole thing really is an attention getter. The video and sound of the Blu-rays are right on par with all the newer content that is out there. I was originally a skeptic of the show but got hooked pretty fast. Great special effects and cast seems to gel pretty well. No complaints for the price...

Great collectors set. Better than expected!!
This series was good, each week I would be so excited for the next episode, it always left me wanting more. However the end was a disappointment. Others have told me there will be another series next year, but that is only hear say on my partWhat a great collectors set. Better than expected!! The set has a dome with a mini town mapped out. I display it in my entertainment area on a shelf. I watched the first part of this mini series and became engrossed so figured I had better get myself my own copy to re-watch when I want to. It is a conversation starter for anyone who watched the series too.

Watched season one, two and three on Amason prime -loved it!
Fantastic well done! To all the nay sayers- It is science "fiction" so let yourself go in the adventure! From season one throug to the end of season three! As much as I desired to 'binge watch',-- I rationed myself to but one per day, to make it last as long as possible.I just finished watching the final episode of season 3. .sorry it's over!!------- Now I hope for the continuation that would be titled : "After The Dome" in many episodes. Just saying!?!

I like the product - but not the packaging!
I would have liked it much, much better, as I am a huge Stephen King fan/collector, if the company selling the product had taken a lot more care in the packaging of the product. All of the air packaging was stuffed on one end of the box and the product was on the opposite end of the box. The product had no protective packaging around it. Therefore, the styrofoam inside the product package was broken, and the dome had been knocked loose from the bottom of the product. I had to superglue the dome back into place just so I could unscrew the dome to get to the DVD's inside. I don't believe that this would have happened if the packaging had been thought about a little more. The product really needs to have the protective packaging surrounding it. Thank you!

LOVE the whole package
Wow I am so glad I got the version with the discs literally "under the dome"!I'm a serious Stephen King fan and one who lost the show when TWC and CBS had their spat.I won't jump through a network's hoops for any show and knew this would be available on DVD/Blu-Ray sooner or later and I'm so glad I waited. The overall quality is great and if you're looking for a present for a Stephen King fan I highly recommend this. The shows look and sound great and the creative packaging makes it extra special.Trust me...it'll make their holiday!

Grosse déception car EXIT la série Under the dome ... :'(Pourquoi tant de haine - vraiment trop injuste !
