I purchased this Sonic drone as a Christmas gift for my 9 year old.Great addition to his collection. It’s easy to setup.He likes that it’s equipped with multiple speed options.His iPhone 14 fits perfectly on the remote which is comfortable for him to use with his small hands.the picture quality I found to be vivid and clear.He gets about 10 minutes of fly time and it recharges in about 30 minutesPacked with features. The flipping is super cool to watch. He’s yet to get bored of it.Overall. I am extremely happy with this purchase. Terrific price.

I have to be honest, I bought this drone for myself and not for a kid. And I have to say this is my very first drone, so I thought if the drone would be suitable for a kid, that maybe the drone would work as a starter drone for me. I'm not a drone expert and I have poor hand-eye coordination, so my review is just my opinion as a first time drone user for this particular drone. Here are some pros and cons as I see them for this product:Pros:1) came well packaged and didn't require too much assembly2) You can crash the drone a bunch of times and it keeps working3) The drone crashed into my pool screen and didn't tear it out due to the propeller protectors4) Comes with a rechargeable battery5) Camera was easy to connect to my cellphone to take pictures and videos6) Price is consistent with the quality of the drone7) The button to return the drone to the starting point worked great as well as the button to lift off and touch downCons:1) The propeller guards and landing feet need to be attached with super small screws that I could barely see and were very difficult to get into the holes. There were 8 screws (no extras). And the supplied screw driver was not magnetic.2) If I am reading everything correctly, there is no way to re-charge the battery without taking the battery out of the compartment and attaching the battery to a USB charger. And the battery door requires you to loosen a screw. There is no charging port on the drone. That's a real bummer.3) Flight time is only 10 minutes4) The connector on the remote to attached the cellphone seems flimsy and didn't hold my phone very well.5) The remote is kind of thin plastic and not very premium (but I guess for the price it's okay)6) Still a steep learning curve, even though this is marketed for kidsOverall, I think it's a good starter drone and I'm going to have to spend some time practicing how to fly the drone. But that's about me and not the product. I'm really grateful for the propeller guards because I crashed the drone into my pool screen a few times and no problem. If I end up getting better at flying the drone, I'll probably consider investing in something a little better, but for now in this learning phase I think it's a perfectly acceptable starter drone for a kid or adult. I recommend the product.

The media could not be loaded. I am impressed at the quality of this Sonic drone. I would consider it a good starter unit. Performing a test flight, I found that it handles wind very well and is extremely stable. This is in part due to the propellers used.Adult supervision should still be provided for any child wishing to learn how to fly and operate a drone. This is especially true when it comes time to both charge and install the flight battery. There is not a protective case around the battery like other drones. It is just a basic lipo cell that plugs into the provided USB charger. So, you will want to make sure the cell does not get accidentally punctured. There is also a bit of care needed when installing the flight battery. If I could change one thing it would be the location of the camera and the battery door. The camera slides into a mount and then plugs into the bottom of the drone on the battery door itself. So, when you go to install the battery and plug it in, you will find that you cannot open the battery door with the camera in place and plugged in. If you unplug the camera, you can swing the door up with the camera on it, but this is not good long term for the life of the plug.I found the video to be basic and somewhat of a lag during rapid movements. Keeping in mind that this is a beginner drone this is acceptable.One “pro tip” I can provide is to make sure that you use the supplied screws to attach the landing gear. There is the temptation to not use them because the landing gear fits well and stays in place. On my unit, this was only true until vibration eventually caused one of them to fall off when I was making my final approach to land! But even with three it still landed fine. You can see in my video how well Sonic performs. I would recommend this for a beginner.
