Now first of all let it be known that I’m an absolute technodinosaur so anything involving Wi Fi, Internet and related issues is a foreign country to me. Having said that, this camera was a doddle to set up. App was easy to navigate and all pairing issues went like clockwork. The camera itself is excellent. Clear video and audio and picks up motion and persons even on low (3) sensitivity. Access to video clips on the app is straightforward. I’m using a 128 Gb card and there seems to be loads of storage and with loop recording the camera just records over earliest recordings. Owing to my total inability to understand smartphone technology and connectivity to the camera I’m left with one irritating issue which does not diminish my review of the camera, merely emphasises my down comings. The phone gives an audible notification of motion detection which is picked up on my Garmin watch. Yes, I completely get the irony of a techno numpty having a smart watch but it alerts my wife if and when I fall off my bike, an increasingly more common event these days. Consequently, as I live on a fairly busy thoroughfare the accursed phone and watch conspire to annoy me by audibly alerting me each time someone walks past, which is the camera’s function, but is somewhat distracting when it does so every couple of minutes. There is undoubtedly a way of switching off notifications, but it is thus far out of my area of competence to find it. Nevertheless, a cracking piece of kit and for the price an excellent buy.

A very good quality external camera. I wanted something to monitor my vehicles on the driveway and this didn’t disappoint. Easy set up with motion detection and exceptional image quality. All features are accessible from the app on your phone and any captured videos can be easily downloaded. Subscribe for unlimited storage capacity or use memory card in the unit.

Excellent camera , picture quality very good Easy to install straight forward Worth the money

First off the bat, very easy to install. I went wireless and it is approx 10 meters and 3 walls away from the router and signal is steady. I was disappointed with the length of the power cable approx 3 meters of black power chord which then connects to approx a foot of white cable outside where the camera is located. I ordered a white 5m extension cable and that resolved the issue of distance from the router to fixed camera location and the white and black cable outside which would have just looked odd for me. Also the benefit of this is the power connection male to female is now indoors out of the elements so that a bonus. Eventually I forgot those zones and disabled them all and went with "line crossing detection" In this mode you set lines from points/boundaries and if anything crosses a line it starts recording, dead simple. Now I have an alert when someone steps on my drive and the camera then follows them and records. You do need person detection mode ON for this so that needs a zone setting. Once the activity has ended the camera reverts back to its starting position which is really important. I opted for local storage rather than cloud subscription and went with a 256gig sd card. This has been operational for a few days now and with all the playing about and multiple alerts initially I have used 8gig of 256 gig so its ample storage space for my needs. When its full its starts over writing but expect that wont be for some time. Replaying video is very very simple. The SD card needs formatting before use. Before you install the camera install the Tapo App on your phone and the formatting can be done through this app once you have the SD card inserted into the camera (very easy to do). All in all and absolute bargain on prime day and worth the money even if full price. Highly recommend. Will answer any questions you have just ask, tara. SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO micro SD card + SD adapter Quality of picture is pretty good but in all honesty struggle to read number plates beyond my driveway so perhaps 25 feet away its a struggle on the highest resolution but for me I am more concerned about people coming up my drive. The two way audio is okay but louder outside (visitor listening) than on the inside with app (me). I will have a play with that soome more. There is a snazzy option to have AI overlay the live video with subtitles of live conversations on the doorstep and that's just like subtitles on tv. Again hit and miss with that.

Does the job perfectly! Tracking motion can be a little stop start, but that’s no huge issue considering the price paid. No batteries to worry about as it’s mains powered. Night vision is brilliant - the detail is amazing. Cloud storage is better than local storage as anyone can remove the sd card and pricewise it’s cheaper than Ring! Seems pretty durable - it’s been outside in -8 degrees and hasn’t frosted up or had any issues.

So far so good, excellent picture quality and so easy to set up using the TAPO app. Don’t scrimp on the micro sd card tho I used the recommended Mystor micro sd card. Hopefully, these will be all weatherproof, TAPO says they are so fingers crossed. The well known brand we have at the moment are so difficult to circumnavigate and unreliable. These cameras are very user friendly, much easier to use all round.

The Tapo C530 is a truly excellent camera. The image quality is noticeably better than many other cameras I’ve used, and overall performance is very impressive. This is actually my sixth Tapo camera, which shows how much I trust the brand. However, my only criticism relates to the power adapter. These cameras are designed for outdoor use, and most outdoor spaces have waterproof socket boxes with protective covers. Unfortunately, like other Tapo products, the supplied power adapter is around 6 cm wide and quite bulky, which means it does not fit inside a standard waterproof outdoor socket box. I contacted Tapo support about this issue, but sadly I did not receive a helpful solution and was simply advised to purchase a different adapter myself. As a loyal customer who has bought six Tapo cameras, I expected better support. In the end, I contacted Amazon customer service and they kindly provided a £10 gift card as goodwill. Many thanks to Amazon for their support. Overall, the camera itself is excellent, I just hope Tapo considers improving the size of the power supply for outdoor installations

The Tapo C530WS Pan/Tilt Outdoor Security Camera gives excellent, clear images both day and night, and the 360° vision is a big advantage for covering larger areas without blind spots. The 3K 5MP resolution is really impressive, and the motion detection works very well, sending quick and accurate alerts. It’s easy to set up through the Tapo app and simple to control remotely, even when away from home. The pan and tilt feature is smooth and responsive, making it easy to keep an eye on everything.
