So Much Value - Just read it and use it
Having seen the mess that gets created when you let a "web designer" loose on a site without a proper understanding of the target customer, and the goals of the site, this planning guide is is a refreshing breath of fresh air. If you are a business owner, read it, print out the templates and have these discussions with your designers. Trust me, even if you do only a few things in this guide, your outcome will be 100% better than if you just choose your site based on the pretty colours. A great, accessible and practical guide that you can quickly use to get better results from your next website build. Get to it!

Pretty good but room for improvement
I have been through this process before but wanted to read this book too see if I could improve. It does a pretty good job of covering most of the major points. A few things that could use improvement:-there is nothing in here about accessibility. You should do an accessibility audit and address the compliance issues.-most of it is geared towards e-commerce sites. I focus on large organization sites so it was not all relevant. A lot of the points in the book are universal though.-even for the publication date, the author doesn't seem aware of modern tools like sitemap software and suggests just making spreadsheets which is not a great tool for that. Figma is now used for much of this.-there is no discussion of creating a timeline or how to integrate the developers in the process. If you hand over all of this to them at the end of the book, it's too late. They need to be involved earlier in the process. And then are they doing waterfall, agile, lean? Thought needs to be put into the development process too.

Great resource, but needs to be edited
This is a great resource for putting together your scope for your website. I learned a lot and will be creating the step-by-step brief that Mr. King outlines.I would give it five stars if Mr. King gets an editor to fix the hundreds of typing mistakes in the book. He credits someone for “line editing”, but I am not sure what exactly she did for her fee. No, a comma and a period are not interchangeable.

Finally!! No more Scope Creep and Projects Going Overtime
Being a web developer for the past 6 years, the biggest frustrations are not having a clearly defined scope or plan and no resource to turn to for help. I suffer from scope creep and projects taking longer than expected. This guide has helped to get my projects back on track and eliminate those frustrations. Thanks for an outstanding guide Darryl 👍

Easy to understand and practical - I wish I had read this before I had my website made. At least now I know how to improve it and would recommend this book to anyone thinking about designing a website.
