We used the coco coir and layered it over last year's raised bed garden soil and then put new raised bed garden soil on top of the coco coir and it makes a good subbase filler and provides nutrients as well as holds the moisture better. I'm anxious to see how the veggies turn out this year in the raised beds since they did fairly well last year.

I purchased this brand since it was the best price on Amazon. I was not disappointed! I have since repurchased and the quality of this coir is excellent. Anyone who says it does not expand well is simply not doing it correctly or thoroughly.

Love this product! Easy to ship and store. Add water and plant your items! I have potatoes growing already in grow bags.

Wow! Way beyond my expectations! Bought 4 brick and wanted to see how they worked in a bed and how much they would cover. I qas brown away, see photo, I did water them for a little more than 30 minutes, I scraped away áreas as they got wet and expanden. Will be buying more for sure

This 10 pound block came in a sealed package, in good condition. After soaking in a large tub with water outside,it expanded to a large quantity. I tested the ph which was definitely more alkaline. There was no chemical smell as mentioned with some of the other coir fiber. This is not something I would use instead of soil to grow plants, but rather to amend the soil and help with compaction, volume,drainage,or excessive acidity of soil. I will be buying more. I recommend that you test the ph of your mixture prior to planting. I only gave 4 stars due to the alkaline ph. I will update my review if growth issues with plants arise.

Super absorbent! My native soil is very heavy. I mixed the coir with the soil in a 1:3 ratio. It's too early to plant in central PA yet, but we have had a lot of rain. I have noticed that there is no compacting of the soil in the raised beds that I have prepared. I can't foresee the success of vegetables that aren't planted yet, but I am hoping for great things. I did plant cold weather seeds- lettuce and spinach, and they are doing very well.

This is absolutely amazing! Used this to add to soil for vegetable garden. OMG. Everything has shot up bigger then ever before. I will be ordering more.
