Brilliant bit of kit
This is a super, handy product that has a fair amount of reach of just under 5ft (4.92ft) The semi ridged endoscopic probe makes it easy to bend and flex the triple camera probe so you can get the right thread through and the triple cameras at the end of the probe provides a great all round view either at the front or at the sides with the cameras able to stream the footage back to the handheld screen in either single screen or split screen format. The image quality is really good and with a full hd capability of 1080p (which can be set to 720p as well for storing more memory files) you are sure to get clear pictures or video which this can do both. A 32Gb TF card is also supplied so you literally have everything here to get you started. It has a really well manufactured monitor with a large 5" screen which shows you the camera feed with easy to use buttons that flip and rotate the image to make it easier to identify what it is you're looking at. This came in so much use when I needed to ascertain where some of my drainage pipe work was going and what orientation it was going which was hard to see through without having to rip out some panels which would have been excessively damaging and create more work for me so being able to bend this and thread this through a small gap to see what was going on behind the wall panelling was superb and avoided the need to create more work for myself and allowed me to better understand the pipe layout and where it was going outside of the house. This kit is going to be very handy for all manner of things from home DIY to car mechanics and seeing in places where it's difficult to get a decent picture or idea of what's going on. The kit comes in a super little zip up carry case to store everything in and with the whole thing being rechargeable I don't have to worry about where I need to plug it in. I'm not sure it would be of any use trying to get the camera probe down through plugholes as the camera probe is probably just to big for most British homes plug holes unless you have large holes to thread the probe through but it could easily be inserted into an opened trap for example and into the pipework to identify any blockages down the line and as the camera is waterproof you don't need to worry about the camera getting submerged and wet. The price is pretty reasonable in my opinion at just under a hundred pounds at time of review considering you get the monitor, carry case and very good quality 3 way camera probe. Could be a great gift idea for the DIY enthusiast as well as using for business use or just for hobby work. There's always a use for equipment like this where it can help to see in places you'd otherwise find hard to look. Great bit of kit and highly recommended.

AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING. Just wow. This is the bore scope you want for working on motors, etc.
This is my second Depstech bore scope and already I'm in love with the DS520. Just everything about it is spot on perfect. Easy to operate, easy to hold in your hand. Very nice image and video resolution. Moving files to the computer is a snap. Wow, fantastic. from top to bottom. This honestly feels like something you'd get from Snap-on for several hundred dollars. The quality is just really stunning for the price tag. The 5 ft cable is easy to manage also. The company has clearly been steadily improving their products. I have an older Depstech camera (the DS450 triple lens) which I also like, but this new DS520 is just a cut above. The split screen view is handy also; using the menu you can roll through cameras A, B, C and then also split off to A/B or A/C. The button for snapping a quick photo is also really convenient. They have really done an outstanding job here on this bore scope and I'm a very picky customer when it comes to my tools and equipment. It just seems like they have really nailed this one. The cable on this camera is also very easy to control as compared to the DS450. I specifically bought this DS520 in order to get a slightly shorter (~ 5ft) cable, so it would be easier to control while inspecting engines, etc. The new cable on this camera is also much easier to position and control; it doesn't coil up all over the place - really appreciate that subtle change in cable materials. The cable connects to the head unit really well also. On my previous Depstech, I had to use a razor to cut away a little of the plastic to help the USB video cable seat properly. On this model, their cable connection is 100% perfect and snaps into place great; nice and secure feeling. The size of the screen on this unit is just right. Not too big, not too small and very sharp as far as image quality. The resolution and display are crystal clear. I also like having all the buttons right under your thumb, that is super nice. This allows you to control things while working without having to constantly stop and move the unit around, etc. All the buttons feel nice and have a quality feel/feedback to them as well. The ability to snap photos one handed on the fly while holding the unit is really great. Just wow... really fantastic job by Depstech. I absolutely love this bore scope. Worth noting also that the customer service from Depstech is always outstanding. The times I've emailed with the company, they have gotten right back to me and provided great service. You can tell they really are highly concerned about their reputation and providing excellent customer experience. I really appreciate that about Depstech. I'm sold.. what else can I say? The DS520 is a home run.

Practical, compact, and easy to use
This is a really simple and easy to use device. I wasn’t initially convinced that we would have anything to use it for, but actually it seems to have several quite practical and a few hobbyist applications including drain unblocking, hunting behind/beneath hard to move furniture for things that have been lost/dropped, checking in/behind lots of things that aren’t the most accessible, getting a close up/underwater look at what’s going on in a fish pond (as long as carefully cleaned first - my nephews are going to love this!), and looking inside items needing repairs to see if you can work out what’s amiss before stripping then down. The borescope comes in a retail box and is supplied with a sturdy hard storage case which has a neat grab handle at the top. It’s pretty compact and easy to transport - the whole thing is roughly the size of a 500g packet of pasta shapes. Inside the case there are storage places for the device, the camera lead, and a USB C to USB C charging cable. A little manual is included, though this is pretty intuitive and easy to control, with decent-sized buttons at the edge of the screen. The device is powered by means of an inbuilt rechargeable battery, and is surprisingly light. This can be used whilst charging. The housing is a textured plastic, and has a ridge at one end - this gives a good, non-slip hand hold. The screen is a decent size and gives a clear picture once the camera is in focus. The guide wire is flexible and sturdy, with built-on cable management (two hook and loop tape strips), and the camera provides decent quality images. The settings menu is all fairly self-explanatory. The lights at the end of the borescope are straightforward to control - left and right arrows next to the screen dim/brighten/switch off a series of bright white LEDs at the end of the probe, with three levels of brightness or no lighting as available options. Packaging was well-fitting and not in any way excessive. The only plastic element was a bag surrounding the device itself (legally required to help protect against fire risk from the inbuilt rechargeable battery).

Good image quality and run time, needs more flexibility
The image quality is better than I was expecting, particularly outside its best focal range. The biggest problem I ran into is that the cable is fairly stiff, as it needs to be for its intended use, and the viewer unit is quite light, so moving the cable usually results in moving the viewer unless you can dedicate one hand to each. My solution to that problem was to buy a short USB 3.0 extension cable and insert that between the viewer and the camera cable. The extension cable is much more flexible and means that I can move and twist the camera without displacing the viewer. It also makes it possible to use the full length of the camera cable and still keep the viewer in a convenient position - well worth the $10 it cost me to buy a 3-pack of 4-foot USB cables. (Note: if you do this, stick with a short extension cable! USB 3 specifies a maximum passive cable length of 3 meters; a five-foot camera cable plus a four-foot extension cable is bumping up against that length limit. And always remember that the connection between the cables is not at all water resistant; the IP-68 rating ends at the USB connector on the camera cable.)

Well made kit
I purchased this to investigate a hole that appeared in my kitchen floor made by a rat (yes, very worrying!!). There will be many more uses and I am pleased with the quality and ease of use. Unfortunately I purchased the one with a 4ft cable as the seller had not made the length clear and I had assumed (wrongly) that it would be 5m (16ft). With a short (4ft) cable it would be perfect for most uses, particularly car inspection or looking behind a stud wall or down the sink. For me I need the longer cable as it will be used for pipe and drain inspection, maybe 10m would be more sensible. Having three cameras seems like a good idea and not much more expensive than one or two, it depends what you want to use it for. It does not seem as though any of the borescope / endoscope camera come even close to the quality of a mobile phone camera which is a shame. I do like the 5" screen and it is easy to use.
