First Cookbook (Usborne First Cookbooks): 1 Spiral-bound – 29 Sept. 2006

Bought this when my kids were small. Now buying it for gandchildren, and hope they too wlll enjoy learning to make some of the recipes. Brownies one a recommend! The pages are now wipe clean, a good idea.

I found the book a little disappointing since it had so many sweets. She started with the tomato soup and is working her way through the book with Daddy. I think as a first cookbook and with assistance of an adult young children could learn how to make healthier dessuch as fruit kabobs with a sweetened yoghurt dip.

This book has engaged the children in cooking. Pancakes on day of delivery were a success

I bought this for my step-daughter who has just turned 10, and is really interested in cookery. I was concerned that the illustrations might be too childish for her, but the book is so well done. The step-by-step instructions are brilliant for kids to follow, and there is a great section on preparation. There are a great range of recipes, from basic to slightly more involved, so allows for some progression. I think this is one she will return to again and again for the basics. I'm very pleased with my purchase, and just so you know, the profiteroles are delicious!

Bought this for my granddaughter’s, I had the original one for their dads. Great for eager little girls to learn cookery.

Brought this for my 10 year old nieces birthday and it is such a lovely quality book for first cooks. We have both made some lovely plates of food from this and she easily understands it. I really love the little people in the book it really adds character and it’s just lovely.

Our toddler kept on going back to this book even though she has tonnes of other new books to read. The illustrations are super sweet and our toddler is very fascinated by how some of the common dishes are prepared and had requested that we make some of the recipes “just like how they make it in the book”.
