Great concept, but it interferes with the Key FOB transmit/receive.
The range to lock/unlock my car was cut down severely. Also, when inside the car, sometimes the key FOD wasn't even detected by the car. The covering shields the key FOB. I think it looks really sharp as a cover, but it kills function. I score this one a 3/5. A good effort, but I knocked points off because it's no good to me if it hinders performance of the whole point of a key FOB.

It’s ok
Not to excited on this. It looks great but the key fob sense when I’m by my car and it opens the door. But with this fob on it doesn’t always detect my keys. Going to use it a bit more but looking for a better one.

Gift for my husband
He liked it very much. It looked like carbon fiber and his car had all carbon Honor so he loved it.

initially, 3 stars - now updated to 5!
gotta admit, once put together it's pretty! the key phrase here is the "once put together" piece. ok, the case has a few pieces. the outer shell is a very attractive gun metal color. i mean it's perfect! the stock chrome look is a bit too shiny for my tastes, but this gun metal softens that look without being matte or overly glossy.i got the "black" and that's a very poor description. it's much more like a rich carbon fiber look! it's refined. the pics shown are inaccurate and you'll be thankful. yes, the black color is correct but what appears to be gray in the pic is more like a hint of iridescent copper that's done very subtly. again, a very rich carbon fiber comes to mind that's masterfully executed.so why only 3 stars, right? certainly, q7/8 owners are gonna lose some functionality, k. 1) the mechanical key to open the door becomes contained within this device and for that rare occasion you need it, a very tiny philips-head will be needed. 2) the red "panic" button on the rear of the fob will be covered and as a result, inoperable. 3) you'll likely need another set of hands to squeeze it tight while placing the screws to complete assembly. all in all, it needs a tool-less design to remove the fob with no impeding of function (panic button) and a solid 5 stars would be well deserved.personally, this is a keeper for me. it's a rich metallic with a great feel that complements a marque of this caliber. again, stunning!UPDATE: yeah, it's early for a revision, i know but i found something in the box which seems to be part of this fob holder. i ordered 3 different varieties and may be confused but the other two had no screws. so i'm taking a bit of a swag here - forgive me. included in the tin can box is a very narrow cylindrical device approximately 2" long. after closer examination, each end contains a screwdriver for disassembly. so this was well thought out! with the tool present, the ability to change the battery or use the door key is no longer problematic. after this find, along with the high quality of the key strap, a 5-star rating is well deserved how bout some instructions, vendor?

Good protection with a few caveats
This is a well-constructed, dark (space black?) metal Audi key fob protector with two separate carbon fiber-like inserts for the front and back. The installation on my 2024 Audi A6 key fob was pretty easy because I already had a tiny, tiny screwdriver for the four tiny, tiny screws required to secure the front and back pieces together. The Audi key fit securely inside and was fully protected -- the inserts also helped pad and protect the key fob.The included metal key ring also required a screwdriver to disassemble it and then attach it to the fob, but that was pretty easy to do as well. It all looks pretty classy when assembled.PROS:1 - Easy assembly;2 - Solid key protection that prevents scratches and dings, and protects the key fob nestled inside;3 - Easy-to-view most key fob functions thanks to semi-transparent film insert on the front;4 - Slips in and out of pocket easily.CONS:1 - The mostly metallic construction adds as much weight as the key fob itself;2 - The front push button section is framed by -- and a bit lower than -- the metal case, resulting in an recessed area that makes it a bit uncomfortable to use and to hold;3 - The key fob's back emergency button is completely covered by the carbon fiber back insert and this does not provide enough "give" to find it or use it in an emergency, rendering that OEM button useless;4 - There are enough ridges, edge, and inset surfaces, that it easily collects dust and pocket lint, resulting in an untidy and somewhat non-streamlined key fob.Overall, a worthy key fob protector that should provide no worries. The few design flaws noted above might be worth the overall protection and classy look for most.
