The packaging said white miso and it looked white when it arrived but while stored in my cool dry pantry unopened, it darkened and looked more like red miso. See the pic of the unopened package of darkened miso. The flavor was still mild like white miso tho. I was worried that my sauce for my Garlicky Miso Shrimp Scampi would get too dark but happily it was the same light golden color that white miso imparts. See pic of recipe.Great taste and mixed well to make a great sauce. Really pleased with how this worked. Not pleased with the color change but the quality is still great.

This miso paste value for money! Very easy to use, you have add Dashi powder, this paste, wakame seaweed and tofu and your plain miso soup is ready in 15 minutes! I love taste of miso with this paste

I bought this specifically to make ginger salad dressing, as it was a key ingredient in the recipe I followed. I’m so glad I did because it made all the difference! The flavor was fresh, authentic, and added the perfect depth to the dressing. It blended well with the other ingredients, creating a delicious, restaurant-quality taste.The quality exceeded my expectations, and I can see myself using it for other recipes as well. If you’re looking to make homemade dressings or dishes that call for this ingredient, I highly recommend it. Definitely worth having in the kitchen!

Flavorful, easy to prepare

I’m not sure if it was the fact it wasn’t packaged correctly or if they just sent me a spoiled item, but the fact is is that it was both. It looks like the picture when it comes it’s brown like poop. It’s supposed to be white miso.I’m afraid to eat it because it is surely they give somebody food poisoning. and Not only that, but you can’t replace the item and you can’t return it. And they do that so they can steal your money and there’s no way you can get it back. So please do not buy this miso. The other one that I got that is actually really good and then I’m very happy with and I actually bought it twice is the (Hikari 🌸 miso, organic miso, saikyo sweet miso.) so don’t waste your time with this one by the one that I had in parentheses it comes in a square container. And it’s very good. I got it a couple times now and I’ve been happy both times in fact I’ve beaten the whole thing by myself lol.So forget this one I want them to be reported so I’m gonna try to do so. I can’t believe that they sent in completely for product like that. They’re gonna get sued and they’re gonna get someone really sick one day.Thank you for reading my review and I really hope that it helps someone ❤️

I wish that there was an option to have this packaged in tbsp sized packets. I just don’t make miso soup often enough to get through a whole package before it goes bad. The paste itself is fine, it’s just not worth it for me.
