Just what we needed!
Great product with easy DIY installation (total package with the drill bit included) and very impressed with the innovation. The cord length can accommodate right or left side installation easily. Very satisfied with the product as it works great!

We installed 2 of these, and they both get stuck in the ON position - Please see updated review
Awesome idea, but in the past 3 weeks we've been using them, BOTH of these switches have stuck IN THE ON POSITION a few times. Will fiddle with them a bit, but if this isn't fixable, it's a FATAL flaw somewhere in the design and will be returning them and downgrading the review as appropriate. Love it when it works, but just CAN'T have this type of switch getting stuck - particularly with the really quiet Insinkerator disposals; it's quite literally a safety hazard! Will update as I work through this......Update 3/28/2019: Wanted to update my review to reflect the outstanding customer service I've received from Mark Muld, the inventor and head of the company. Mark responded personally to my latest review, and quickly sent out new switches. These worked better, with only a couple of issues. As further follow-up, he then proactively sent yet ANOTHER set of switches with upgraded micro switches, as these were believed to be the issue. We had a few intermittent problems with one of the switches, but haven't had time to report this to the company. Fast forward to today, just received yet ANOTHER set from Mark (again proactively following up), as he had found that some of the latest switches were not manufactured correctly. SO, while a few issues still may exist, the personal follow up by Mark and his focus on customer service/satisfaction has been outstanding! As an engineer, I know how difficult debugging design and manufacturing issues can be, but continue to be impressed by his dedication to getting this right. The toe switch solution, even with some issues is still SO much better than the old wet, messy hands on the switch installations. Am updating my review to three stars based on terrific customer service. Hoping this last set will do the trick.Update 5/4/2019Wanted to update my review again to reflect our ongoing experience with the switches (we have 2; one for each disposal in our huge island). Read my prior update to get up to speed on the latest version of the switch. So far, the newest switches that Mark sent are working flawlessly. No sticking, no issues while being used heavily for the past month, so have upgraded my review to 4 stars. Will continue to use them for the next few months and report back with any issues. For now, we're pretty happy campers!

Great switch, little bit of a learning curve.
This was the perfect solution when I decided to add a garbage disposal after my kitchen was completed. I have a granite countertop and did not want to attempt to drill through that. The way the house is designed going up through the wall for a wall switch would have been a pain. And I really didn't like the idea of cutting a hole in my brand new stainless steel sink to put an air switch. This was the best and only solution. What's really nice is it only runs The garbage disposal when you're holding the switch on. you can't leave the garbage disposal running and forget about it or have stuff drop in and damage it because as soon as you move your foot the power comes off. It does take some getting used to. The person that uses the garbage disposal the most will usually be the only one who really knows how to use it. It's kind of an odd motion. You have to slide your foot slightly to the right to release the latch and then up. it's a weird motion for your foot to get used to but once you have it it's no problem at all. When installing it make sure you install it near where your foot rests normally when you're standing in front of the sink. if you have to reach over in one direction or the other it'll be difficult to release the lock and get the switch engaged.Other than a little bit of a learning curve this is a fantastic solution that keeps everything nice and neat. you can barely see the toe kick switch under the cabinet and I didn't have to do any extensive work to install a switch for the garbage disposal. since the house had never had a garbage disposal there was no switch or outlet near the sink that I could have used so I would have had to do a full install of a switch to have a wall switch.Once you learn how to use it it's the coolest little switch in the world. You just have to take a little time and understand there is a little bit of a learning curve as your foot develops muscle memory. It's also fun to watch family come visit and try and turn the garbage disposal on. Who wouldn't pay a little extra for that kind of entertainment?

Needs Improvement
The foot switch was easy to install. There were two issues with the design of the switch. First, the motion to activate the switch was awkward. It requires you to slide your foot sideways and upward to activate the switch. Second, I was unable to get the switch to activate the disposal consistently with the proper foot motion. This may be because the foot switch was defective but I decided to return it and look for another solution. I found a foot switch designed to operate on shop equipment on Amazon for $23.00 that did the job and was much easier to operate. The new switch had screw tabs and I mounted it sideways on the base of the cabinet. It does a great job.

Broken less than 2 years after install (Update: Received replacement)
Update:I contacted the company. They explained that there was an issue with the switches on those early models and they sent me a free updated replacement and it was worked great every since! Now I have no complaints.I would recommend this product.Original Post:This thing was great in theory, however, it rarely would turn off on first press and ultimately no longer works less than 2 years after purchase and install. For an $80 piece of equipment it really should function better and last much longer. It's presently stuck in the on position only no matter how hard we try. The only way to solve it is to unplug it. However when you plug it back in it stays in the on mode. It's not fun having to reach underneath your sink to plug in the disposal. Will not be purchasing a replacement.
