Unbelievable sound for the money
I bought these specifically for the headphones, the mixer being an afterthought but a bonus nonetheless. I haven't even tried it yet. But the headphones are unbelievably good for the price. Sparkling treble, deep but still tight bass, and a surprisingly spacious sound for a closed-back design.Funny enough, I used to regularly buy expensive headphone pursuing a "reference" quality (Grados, Monolith planar magnetics, and Shure are among a few notable headphones I own/have owned). Only in the last year have I concluded that reference quality headphones are kinda boring and sterile. I'm happy to sacrifice a flat response curve for a profile that is enjoyable and non-fatiguing. These have that. It's the classic mid-scoop with boosted trebles and deep bass. It is very enjoyable and unoffensive. But they're still very detailed and spacious-sounding. It's easy to hear new details in old songs. I even find myself closing my eyes and just listening for new things. One could argue that these details are accentuated because of the sound profile's non-flat quality, but I'm enjoying these more than any others, and that's what really matters to me now. And for what it's worth, while I haven't seen a response curve for these, I'd be surprised if they could be reasonably labeled as "inaccurate." To me, they just refine the sound to a more perceptually-balanced sound. No objectionable peaks or dips whatsoever. These are gaming headphones, but I use them for everything (I don't actually game that much.. I just love good sound.. And I can't believe you can have this sound for this price). It's unreal. I still hang my Grado RS2e headphones because they're beautiful, but these are my new go-to headphones.Really.I've purchased several Plantronics headphones ever since I learned that they engineer a sound that suits my tastes to a T. I've been pleased with all, but these set a new bar for sound character and comfort. I also always appreciated their novel use of textures and materials, and these are no exception. They have a slick, fun material on the top of the head and and the center of the exterior cups. I often find myself rubbing my fingers against them because they're pleasant to touch. As much as I'd like to keep these as a secret, I want others to love them so Plantronics will keep making headphones like this. They're as close to perfect as I've ever experienced.

I bought one, and then 2 weeks later, bought another
I bought a different set of headphones in January and decided that I wanted a second one for the kids, but when I went to buy another the price had gone up a lot. So I started looking around and found the Rig. I have a fairly simple setup and we use wireless controllers so all we need is to plug in the headset to the controller on either the xbox or the PS4.So I took a chance, and ordered this one and I am really pretty pleased with it. I got a second one so that the kids can both play together since they are a lot smaller / lighter and don't fall off their heads like the other headset I had bought. That is not to say that they don't fit adult heads at all. They fit me just fine and I have a giant melon head. And the RIG control unit plugs into my mac and works with no configuration or tinkering. I use that for voice over IP and conference calls now that I have to work from home.

Headset painful, base station awesome.
The headset looks great, audio is good and mic seems to work really well but the headband has zero padding and the headset is really uncomfortable on the top of the head and the ears - clamps hard, sits wrong and isn't breathable so it makes your ears painful, hot, and itchy. Might be better for someone with a smaller head - mine is huge. The base station is great if you have a phone with an audio jack to take advantage of the easy switching between phone and computer input, and is still pretty good if you have just a wired headset with a three stage audio jack. It seems to be compatible with any audio jack headset and because of that I won't be returning this as the base station is awesome enough by itself.

Great quality it’s worth it
I bought it cause I thought it was wireless, I don’t mind the wires they are long in length and it doesn’t get in the way. Other than that I love it, the mixer it comes with is really cool. It comes with an equalizer and it makes the sound of anything superb. This was worth it

Mixer broke itself in a few days.
Edit: the mixer broke down and stopped working entirely by day 3. That was really all it had going for it and now I'm just going to by a real multi channel mixer box instead. The mixer aspect is handy for listening to music without capturing it in nvidia share/shadowplay. it does cause a minor background hum at all times (doesn't show in recordings, is mixer side only), the microphone quality (and options, two different mic types) is more than acceptable. slight background noise that follows peaks instead of being overtaken by them, but overall good. seems this only issue is the USB connection isn't shielded to prevent power signal noise, most aren't outside of pro audio solutions. headphones themselves are comfy, very sturdy, yet light enough for longer session. big ears may suffer some discomfort due to rubbing on fabric edges inside, but It's less pronounced compared to other headsets I've used.actual audio quality is decent, def not reference material, but the highs don't pierce ( a bit muddy though) like I've had with other headsets before. seems tuned towards low end, which some may like. I prefer a flat response myself.Product came with everything mentioned inside the manual in a generic white box. product is clean like a new one, so this wasn't a rushed rebox and resell as refurb deal as far as I can tell.Mixer isn't picky with the headsets I've tried it with (wants a combo TRRS jack for mic support though), which is good because while the default headset is nice, it's not exceptional.

Great deal
Plantronics knows how to make headsets. I bought a Steel Series, which was great, except that the cushions were not deep enough, so my ears were up against hard plastic. I could only stand wearing them for 30 minutes or so, which is not good. So I got a RIG 400 set, which was awesome. Those got stolen though, and I stumbled upon this earlier generation RIG set. Comfort, sound and connection options all very good. Such a good deal that I bought a couple more for my younger gamer cousins.
