The Lodge: A completely gripping and totally jaw-dropping psychological thriller

A gripping read
Another corker of a story from Sue Watson. The premise: an eclectic group of family members trapped together in a snow-bound lodge.Past resentments and unresolved issues abound; local police are investigating a hit and run incident and suspect someone at the lodge might know more than they’re letting on and when one of the party goes missing, it’s not easy to spot who has most to gain from their demise.Lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending makes The Lodge a gripping read.

Addictive, chilling read from one of my favourite authors
Sue's books are always on my 'Must Read' list and this one was so deliciously chilling, perfect for this time of year! The story begins with Fiona arriving at a remote snowy lodge to reluctantly spend a long weekend with her ex-mother-in-law Angela, ex husband Scott and his new wife Danni, and Fiona's two older children. Fiona has plenty of reservations about the trip, but little did she realise just how isolated the lodge would be. Or that there would be a killer in their midst waiting to strike....I loved this book. Anything with a group of people isolated anywhere with grudges and resentments between them always has me hooked. The snowy atmosphere and the remote lodge was perfectly captured, as was the distinct "voices" of the different characters throughout the story. This was like a simmering pot just waiting to bubble over. The underlying tension and unease cleverly builds and I honestly didn't know who to believe or trust. I read this so quickly and couldn't put it down. This book comes highly recommended from me, as do all Sue's other books.

Great psycho thriller!
I’ve started the year with a corker of a book that gripped me from page one. With the mix of characters comes a lot of suspicion. So much is going on at The Lodge it’s hard not to speculate who can be trusted and who can’t.Sue Watson is a mastermind at spinning webs and weaving those threads of suspicion. You can’t help but try to guess who is deceiving who and as the truth is revealed you wonder how you ever missed the clues that were there all along. This is a brilliant book and one that will keep your attention caught in its web of lies.

Gripping
I started to read this book last night and after a sleep and some housework just had to continue with the story. The plot has been very well thought out and all the red herrings along the way did not prepare me for THAT ending.A very unputdownable novel.

Good
A blended family, including a past and present wife, all stuck in a cabin - what could go wrong?! A lot, as it happens. Lots of twists along the way, as the story unfolds from the two wives' points of view. Good fun to read and a twisty ending.

Twisted and unputdownable
Angela, Fiona’s ex mother in law plans a family holiday to get everyone together and celebrate her birthday. It’s kind of awkward for her to see her husband with his new wife but she couldn’t decline her and take her kids with her as well. But that family holiday turns her life upside down. The ending was scary and truth was so unpredictable. It put Fiona in dilemma. While Danni was also harbouring a secret of her own. At the end, there was a murder and the investigation was going on but the end was bad. The book is twisted and unputdownable.

This is a good one.
First, you won't like any of the characters but that's ok. That are all flawed in some manner. The best part was I wasn't able to figure out who "did it". It was a creepy story with creepy characters. Definitely fun to read and worth the money.
