You will have to use a very large step down transformer. I use my machine in Thailand with one and have not had any problems. The cost is about $150 the kind you will need. Get a good one or you will fry your machine. I also use a high end surge protector.

Can other size hoops be used with this machine?

The NQ1600E Embroidery Machine will accept the 5 x 7 and the 4 x 4 hoops. It will not accept larger than the 6 x 10.

How can you change colors?

Hello there, this machine will sew with one color at a time. Then you simply unthread the machine and rethread the machine when prompted to the next color and continue on.
