Well packaged and worked out of the box
I bought this as a second enclosure as for some reason ny ssd stopped working, it turned out the first enclosure I bought (not this one) had gone faulty. I put this one together and after a quick test to find out my ssd was still OK, I fitted the heat sink and started copying across. Transfer speeds are ok, I tested a 20 gb video file and it took about 16 to 18 minutes, not too bad and was stable at least. No hints at disconnecting or erroring. When inused without the heat sink the enclosure felt quite warm, after i fitted the heat sink it ran cooler, proving that thay works. The feel of the drive is not premium but it still feels OK and is nicely designed. A little longer than some on the market but this I cam deal with as its still much smaller than having an external 2.5 inch in your accessory bag.Overall, a nice little reliable (I hope) enclosure, good for a budget and easy to install.

It works but gets very hot & slow
As above it works but even when using the included heatsink the SSD gets very hot when underload even for just copying and pasting files and the speed is capped at 30mbps which is VERY slow for an SSD, I suspect the controller on this external adapter is very cheap or poorly made or i just got unlucky and had a faulty one.Update: however I cannot fault them for there customer service, upon seeing my review they got in touch and apologised, offering a choice of a replacement or refund, which is not something most sellers would go above and beyond to do so I would now recommend them to anyone.

Good value & does the job
I needed an NVMe adapter like this to transfer my OS to a new drive. This one was good value and I've bought from the orico brand before and was satisfied.I like the tool-less installation, as I was upgrading a couple of PCs at the same time - really fast to swap in a new SSD (and for the purpose of cloning a drive, you don't need to put the outer cover on). Transfer speeds were very fast, but I didn't measure them directly. It doesn't feel like a 'very high quality' product when fully assembled, but it feels good enough, and isn't going to pop open or get damaged if thrown in a bag. It clips together and the aluminium chassis seems solid. Considering the price (~£13.15 when I bought it) I would consider it a great purchase!

Failed almost straight away
Bought this to house a 1TB nvme drive. Even with the included heat-sink the heat doesn't really have the ability to escape the enclosure since the heatsink attaches to the top of the drive and then slots inside the outer case. There's a sealed air pocket around the drive and no contact with the outer case so the case gets roasting hot and i have no idea how hot the drive itself must get.In any case within a couple of hours the drive began to either stall / slow or completely hung and produced IO errors.I think the design of the product lacts correct thermal management and will ultimately lead to drive failure. Sending it back before it terminally kills the nvme drive

Easy to use and just works
I used this for an existing M.2 drive after upgrading my PC and not having enough slots. It's worth mentioning that it only comes with a USBC to USBC lead, so bear this in mind if your computer only has the larger USB slots.Plugged the drive in, plugged the USBC lead in to the PC and it just works. Seems fast enough, doesn't get hot.

It turns off after being inactive for a while
When active is works well, no complaint there. However the unit shuts down if not active for about 10mins, this means that it needs to wake up again an re-enumerate. For my CCTV system is made it unusable as its filemanager does not handle usb suspend correctly - as such I've reverted back to an 3.5inch spindle disk.

Great but of kit
Very reliable, perhaps a bit fiddly with the little rubber bungs to hold the chip down, but has done well for formatting lots of drives with no issues.

Does what it is supposed to, and does it well
Installation was straightforward, then I had to initialize the drive. Once that was done, it has worked perfectly. It isn't as fast as a PCIe bus, but works very well as usb drive, and is much faster than USB 2.0.

It is good enclosure for ssd
It is good enclosure for ssd. It has a heat sink also. It was easy to install ssd and easy to use too.

good stuff; metallic and good for heat dissipation
metallic case is good for heat dissipation; it is really important if you doing a continuous read/write (e.g. file transfer). Your NVMe can be very hot and it is better to have a metallic case like this one.

You can always trust Orico
Did what it’s suppose to do in a jiff. Removed SSD from ‘dead’ laptop. Put it into the enclosure. Plug it into the new laptop which recognises it as a removable drive, and all the old data safely ‘recovered’.
