Audio-Technica ATN95EX Replacement stylus for AT95EX Red

I bought the ATN95EX as a replacement for my ATN95E (green) after it suffered some accidental damage. For a few extra pounds, I've ended up with essentially the same good quality stylus, but with noticably improved bass response and reduced inner channel distortion. Definitely worth the extra money, and very easy to install.

Replacement Unit for Audio Technica Record Deck. A vast improvement in Sound Quality.

Fits well on a Linn K9 cartridge with minimal front overhang. Gives greater depth and definition to the sound than my 30 year old K9 stylus on a Rega Planar 2 deck even though the ATN95EX is regarded as a step down from the Linn. Well worth the money

Great upgrade from at95e stylus

After years of listening to an Ortofon 2M Red and considering the £140 upgrade to a 2M Blue stylus, I found my old Linn Basik cartridge and decided to give that a wirl. It worked sounded quite good so thought to upgrade the stylus to this. Oh my what an improvement across the board from the 2M Red! very happy with this EX stylus, must be one of th best stylus bargains in HiFi right now. The 2M red stylus is about £67 at the moment.system used is:Technics SLQ 303 turntable.Musical Fidelity V-LPS phono pre amp.Naim Nait 5i II integrated amp.Spendor S5E speakers.

I have owned a See Revolver turntable for many years, which was supplied with a Linn Basik LV-X arm and K9 cartridge. When I came to replace the original Linn stylus (yellow) a number of years after purchasing the turntable, I found that the same stylus was not available from the hi-Fi shop where I bought the turntable, so they offered me a Tonar 832-DS stylus (bright red), which I took on the shop's recommendation. Although this cartridge worked quite well, I was always concerned that this stylus sat on the record at a slightly steeper angle than the original Linn stylus, but there was no obvious degradation to the sound. So when I recently decided to replace the Tonar stylus, I did some research and found that the best compatible stylus for my Linn cartridge was likely to be the Audio Technica ATN95EX stylus (deep red), which looks to be an exact match for the original Linn stylus. As my Linn arm has a fixed head-shell, it was slightly tricky to line-up the new stylus, although it slotted into place quite easily once the alignment was correct. I am very pleased with this ATN95EX stylus and consider it to be at least as good as the original Linn stylus. D. Andrew Doggart

The media could not be loaded.  Everybody is comparing this stylus to the oreginal 95e, but they don't realize that they are comparing a new stylus to a used one. Styli ware out slowly and we don't hear the difference in sound quality untill it, the sound, becomes very bad. And then we buy a new " better" stylus and comparing it to our old, wornout one. What I'm trying to say is, don't expect dramatic changes in sound with this stylus. This stylus is better than the 95e, but not by much. Is it worth getting? Yes! But, don't think it is going to sound like nude, or shibata.I bought it to play my second hand vinyls for the first time after I get them. And if they pass the play test with this stylus, I play them with higher grade styli.

In meinem TEAC Plattenspieler ist das Standart-Tonabnehmer-System VM 95E MM (grüne Nadel).Das ist in dieser unteren Preisklasse weit verbreitet. Das System mit der grünen Nadel klingt aber irgendwie immer schwammig, ohne druckvollen Bass und wenig räumlich (mein pers. empfinden).Durch Austausch der Nadel von grün (ATN95E) auf rot (ATN95EX) entstand eine verblüffende und unerwartete Klangverbesserung: Basstiefe, Räumlichkeit, Klarheit usw. Alles klingt deutlich besser.Wollte zunächst für rund 100€ einen kompletten neuen Tonabnehmer kaufen (z. B. Orthofon). Aber für 38€ zuzügl. Versand habe ich für überschaubaren Aufwand eine sehr gute Lösung gefunden. Kann ich nur empfehlen.
