Perfect Light for Old Glory! Shines where is should; doesn't shine where it shouldn't
I've had this light installed on my 18' Valley Forge steel flag pole and could not be happier with the results. The light is bright enough where it needs to be; on the flag! It is not so bright on the ground as to bother the neighbors, so in proper perspective, it carries through on expectations. Installation was simple; just remove the finial (ball top) via a bolt under the pole top fitting and install the light. On my pole, the finial shaft was the correct diameter and length for this light. There is an on-off button, so before installation I went into a dark room to insure it was on, as I did not want to take the pole back down if it happened to be off. The light has worked flawlessly and provides illumination consistently from dusk to dawn.UPDATE:We're now into the fall season and this solar light continues to provide illumination as expected, where we want it and not where we don't. Even with shorter daylight, it still lasts through the night.

Bright Flagpole Light!
Exceeded my expectations. The 20 LED's are CREE style and are BRIGHT! I have it mounted atop a 20-foot aluminum flagpole with a 3x5 flag and it sufficient to illuminate the flag AND a circle about 20 feet in diameter!! These sell under different names but appear to be identical, and the prices range from $25 to $89 . . . for the same item. Be careful hen purchasing.Update: After a few months the lights began flickering and became dim. I removed the batteries and checked them out, they worked in an LED flashlight. So I must assume that the controller or the LEDS are failing. I took it down for the winter and left it in a window to keep the batteries charged all winter. When I installed it in the spring it didn't work at all. This year I will seek out another brand which will hopefully last more than a year.

Works all night long and lights the ground below.
I waited a week to ensure that it wasn't just going to work for a day or two and then fail, but I've had this for almost two weeks now and it's worked perfectly, even though we haven't seen the sun in over a week here in SW Florida. I've had the unpleasant fortune of being up before dawn recently and the light is still shining bright. It's a direct downward light so it doesn't light the entire flag, just the closest third or so.I have it mounted on top of a 20' pole on my dock and it's bright enough to light the deck below as well. Not enough to read, but certainly enough to see the steps and chairs. I'm blown away by how well this works.

the light is nice and bright and fully charges as designed
This light is a bit smaller than the Annin branded light that it's replacing. So far, the light is nice and bright and fully charges as designed. The only poor attribute that I've noticed thus far, is that the battery cover screws are too short. This shouldn't be a problem, unless you have a telescopic pole that's susceptible to an occasional heavy winds that can cause a section to collapse. In my case, the top section of my pole slid down in high winds, causing one of the battery covers to dislodge. However, I just simply drilled a deeper hole in each battery cover screw cavity and installed larger and better quality screws - problem solved.

Tough, and lights up the flag very well!
Bought this to go on my Flag Pole Buddy flag pole that is on my RV travel trailer. I have a brass-finish finial that had the 1/2" bolt for this unit to slip onto. It is tough!!! A strong storm came up while we were camped in Vegas and upon arriving at the trailer I realized the flag, light, and finial were all missing. After doing some searching at the surrounding campsites I found it with flag still attached about 75 yards and three parking sites from our trailer sitting in a shallow puddle. I picked it up and covered the eye and was rewarded by it coming on brightly! The finial didn't fair as well and has some definite dents and dings now. I have used it several more times and it continues to work perfect and put out plenty of light to keep "Ol Glory" out of the shadows. If you have a flag pole, get one of these.

Great company to work with
i was pretty disappointed with this product at first because I couldn't mount this to my new 20 foot flag pole. Then the company contacted me and ask me to give them another chance at this light. They told me the correct topper I needed to use. I purchased the recommended top and it works great. This Light is just what I needed to display my flags. This company is great to work with and the product is very good, so far. I have only had it a couple days but I'm pretty satisfied. It came in a timely manner & was well packaged

Solar Flag Pole Light
This is my second light. After a number of years the other one finally quit. This one seems brighter than the first. I looked at other lights and read some reviews and decided on this one, I'm glad I did. I'm very happy with this one. I would recommend it to anyone.

Lit from dusk to dawn
I read reviews before buying. One review said this lit from dusk to dawn. To our delight it does just that. I actually found myself getting up the first night to see if our flag was lit up. many in reviews said that it would not fit on the flagpole under the ball. I bought an eagle topper with a ball at the same time that I purchased the solar flagpole light. I had to take the ball off of the bottom of the eagle so the light would fit. So all in all, our flagpole and solar light cost us more than we had planned, BUT we love the end results. We have had many compliments on our flag both day and night,

Should come with sleeve extension,
Should come with sleeve extension ,as it stands now the ball that came with my flag pole is not long enough to seed through the hole to connect to flag pole when trying to install light

Test it first
I mounted this to the top of a 25 foot flagpole and then raised the pole into place and the light functioned as it should for 2 days. It now does not come on by itself. It seems there is something loose inside, because if I whack the flagpole with a rubber hammer, it comes on. I shouldn't have to do this on a daily basis. A replacement isn't the answer, as it will cost me to hire a scissor lift to get up to swap it out. Poor quality control. Test this by shaking it around first.... as it will get shook by the wind at the top of a pole.
