How do you change the color temperature?

The entire 3rd Generation of Zafferano Cordless Lights are user-settable to three temperatures (2200K Candle Light, 2700K Candle Light, 3000K Bright White). To set your lamp, start with your lamp OFF and touch and hold the control button for four seconds. The button turns Blue. Now tap the button and you can SEE the color Temperature cycle through your three choices. Tap the lamp and it will show you 2200K, 2700K, and 3000K, and it will keep cycling, so you can select the color that fits the current mood. Once you are satisfied, hold the button again for four seconds. The Blue color disappears and your Zafferano Cordless Lamp is now set to your chosen temperature. (And, of course, you can change it as often as you wish.)

does it work as a reading lamp on a nightstand? Is it bright enough and is the light spread adequate for reading?

Not great as a reading light. I use it for a table light

How do dim the light. When light is on and I conti ue to press it doesnt dim?

A light touch dims the light, a heavier touch will shut it off.
