Dental Orthodontic Expansion Swivel Key Tool

This little tool was very helpful and made turning the expander key MUCH easier!

My daughter had a palate expander that requires a key to turn it every day. The orthodontist provided a tiny key, about an inch long, that had me reaching my fingers into her mouth each day; needless to say, it was an unpleasant experience for both of us! We’ve only used it once, so far, but we’re quite happy with the ease of use.

This worked when we left our turner the ortho gave us on vacation. It was a teeny bit larger than the original tool which made fitting it a little clumsy at first. Also, the metal part was longer than our original tool which made it awkward to get a full turn in one go as it was too big for my daughter's mouth. We made it work for the last 2 weeks of turns and got the hang of it towards the end.

My son lost his original expander from his orthodontist and we needed a replacement. This did the trick. Worked exactly like the one the orthodontist gave us. Highly recommend.

Exactly what we needed! The flimsy key the orthodontist gave us just wouldn’t work. This key made the process so much more tolerable.

Do not buy this. It is a useless product. I purchased this to replace a lost key for my son’s orthodontic expander. Not only did it not work, it is a very dangerous product. I attempted to use it once. Upon turning the key, the metal broke off in the expander. I wasn’t sure when I felt the snap if it had broken or if the key had popped loose from the keyhole. I looked at the metal part still attached to the plastic handle and saw that the edge was jagged from breaking off. Fortunately, my son was able to remove the broken piece of metal from the expander. He could have easily swallowed the jagged shard or been stabbed inside the mouth with the sharp edge of the metal that was still attached to the plastic. Glad he wasn’t harmed but I’m very disappointed that Amazon would sell a product so dangerous and of such poor quality.

At first appearance, this looks cheap, but it is very durable and easy to use
