Good Sized Net
Yup, it floats alright. You can't lose this net due to some weird mishap because it floats and plus there's a lanyard with a carabiner at the end to clip on anything. There's also a hook type of clip on the shaft as well to hook it on the waist of your pants/shorts or belt. The extension of the shaft is not that much but it does help if you're standing in the water. If you're on a pier or ledge, the length of the extension is not even close. Other than that, the netting is rubberized to protect fish if you're doing catch and release. The rubber helps in preventing the scales getting snagged on netting that's fine. With the rubber coating, it helps in allowing the fish to be handled more with care. A plus on the rubber coating is that it will at least allow for the netting to last longer as well due to unforeseen abrasions from reef or rocks that are near the fish landing area. A nice net to have when you need it most by your waist or side. I think the best feature about this net is that switch allowing you to flick the net open like a spring loaded knife.

Floats
It floats but its a bit fragile, plastic isn't great and keeping it locked in place.
