J3R180 JCOP4-180K Java Smart Card(Replace UNFUSED J2A040 Chip Java JCOP) with 2 Track 8.4mm HICO Magnetic Stripe J3R180 JCOP4-180K Java-3pack

These are really nice. They're Java Card 3.0.5, which is about as new as I can find out there, so they support basically every applet. (I have tested GidsApplet, IsoApplet, SmartPGP, and probably a few more I can't remember.) They're big enough that I haven't filled up the storage yet, despite having multiple applets at a time installed. (GidsApplet and SmartPGP work fine together) They are using the standard default 404142434445464748494A4B4C4D4E4F key so the GlobalPlatformPro tool can load applets easily with no hassle. They're dual-interface, both contact and contactless/RFID. (I haven't used the contactless much but I did confirm it works using my Android phone as a remote smart card reader.) I have not used the magnetic stripe. They do support 4096-bit RSA keys, which is pretty critical for my use case. They seem pretty fast, at least compared to my other (ancient) cards, which are Credentsys Lite 72k (Java Card 2.2.1). They are using T1, direct convention, and work fine with the Identiv SCR3310v2.0 USB Smart Card Reader. pcsc_scan reports ATR: 3B F8 13 00 00 81 31 FE 45 4A 43 4F 50 76 32 34 31 B7 which matches NXP JCOP v2.4.x, and the info from gp --info seems to confirm the chip is as advertised. I had some trouble running JcAlgTest to completion, but I think it was just my system, since there are listings there for similarly-advertised cards. (I'll try again and submit my results as Pdxox J3R180 JCOP4-180K) The only other downside I can find is that they are only using SCP02, not SCP03, for the Global Platform secure channel protocol. However, the applets I'm using do not depend on Global Platform so it doesn't affect them. Nice card whether you are looking to deploy an applet or get into development.

Card is completely bricked. I spent hours trying to get it to work, absolutely would not function. It’s locked, can’t be initialized or cleared. This was either a card that someone sent back OR it’s just a bad card. Either way, complete waste of my time.

The copy just fine and are easy to use.

Worked fine as a java card. I was able to load an applet. The code ran fine. The card benchmarks very fast in JCAlgTest so it should be a good option if you need to do a lot of execution on the card itself. No problems.

Cards did not come in "OP_READY" state as one would expect new javacards to. Furthermore they only support SCP02 protocol not the newer standard SCP03. Another thing I noticed missing is the ability to use different security domains with these cards. This is not what you want if you are getting a new javacard that you intend to do much of anything with these days. Look elsewhere and you can definitely get proper javacards for less money!
