American Amber Homebrew Beer Ingredient Kit

I always add some extra corn sugar for an alcohol boost and hops for extra aroma and flavor. Good solid Amber Ale Kit.

Was easy to brew and all the ingredients are included . I added some raspberries to the second fermenter and it came out delicious.

Great product and it turned out great.

The instructions are totally different than the box. The box and description say the abv is around 4.5% and the instructions say 3.6%. Thats a major difference... which is correct... who knows Update: im bringing it up to 3 stars... the actual anv is closer to 4.5%. Its actually a tad over. I still would like to see a consistent OG and Abv from box to instruction. FIX THIS brewers best!

Have been a home winemaker 40 years so not a total novice but first time brewing. Was an entertaining and enjoyable experience. I bought this particular one because I enjoy amber and most dark beers and because it was priced at a level I didn't consider exorbitant. The result is a nice flavor with about .045 alcohol. It is nothing like amber in color. It is more the color of oiled walnut. I followed directions completely so it was nothing incorrectly done. I m trying another product but may do another of this down the road.

Seems good so far. I really like the brewers best kits. The only thing I don't like is that the beers seem very dark in color. I assume that's because they use a liquid malt extract. Maybe it will lighten up as it ages? I'll update my review on taste etc when my beer is finished.

I'll update after the beer is bottled, as to the taste and clarity of this amber lager. However, the instructions clearly calls for 2 packets of Willamette hops, added to the boiling wort 1/2 hour apart. My kit came with only one package. I really hope it doesn't negatively impact the finished product, but as it sits now, I'm not thrilled at getting an incomplete kit.
