4-in-1 Universal Backlit Remote & IReTV IR Receiver Combo. for Streamers That Have no IR Receiver Built in, Including F-TV, Nvidia Shield (2nd Gen), Kodi, MCE and Many Other A/V Devices

I bought this for a 2nd gen 2017 Nvidia Shield TV. I just put my tv remote and the shield remote in a drawer. I absolutely hated the shield slider for volume and not having a mute function for when the phone rings. The IR receiver is necessary for the 2nd gen model. This does require a usb port to work - I have a hub and put this on the other usb port on the shield itself. This gives me the home button, back, okay +left, right, up, down plus dedicated buttons for volume up, volume down, mute, play, fast forward, rewind, pause and power on/off all in one remote. There are a couple of other buttons that work - a button that takes you to google play, a screen record button. It doesn't interfere with the keyboard and mouse I have set up either. You can set the volume control to always use the tv & in the Shield sound settings - pass control to other device so it all works seemlessly. The keys are backlit and theres no need to fumble around for a certain key to turn that on (without hitting a key you don't mean to) since the number pad has no function its a great way to light up the remote in the dark. This takes two AA batteries which should last a long time and are easy to find/buy and change. I've only had the shield for a couple of months and the watch batteries in the shield remote were already almost dead. Happy camper here.

Good remote and worked on all my devices. However i wish there were some buttons that were permanent to one device rather than having to switch back to that device...like volume. Unless im missing something, if im on amazon fire stick and want to change the volume ive got to press input b (my receiver programmed) and then the volume to get it to change the volume on my receiver. Itd be nice if there was a way to set permanent buttons. Instead it seems i may have to program the same receiver volume buttons for each device i use.

Very good universal remote. The only thing I would change is making it a little easier to read some of the buttons. I guess they have to be designed a certain way for when the lights come on, but a tad difficult.

Works great with a Roku Ultra and a Kodi box. Easily programmable, can have the volume buttons always use the TV regardless of which box is in use. Dedicated YouTube and Plex buttons for Roku (via macros), play/pause/stop/etc. all work in Kodi, and there's still a slot left to add my FTA sat box in the future. This is a winner!

This remote is a MUST HAVE if you have any streaming devices. With the Y cable dongle, I have my firestick, Nvidia Shield, tv and stereo receiver connected together and only using this remote. It's an upgrade to the shield and firestick. Fantastic

Remote feels sturdy. Lights up nicely. Had it programmed to my TCL tv, Samsung soundbar and nvidia shield with the IR receiver in only a few minutes. Seems to work pretty well. The IR receiver needed for the shield does seem pretty weak however, even in a small living room it is finicky. If it was better the remote would easily be 4-5 stars instead. Will update after more usage.
