Running your old equipment that only has composite (red/white/yellow plugs) output through this adapter makes the picture look soooo much better than plugging directly into the TV, if your TV even has that kind of input in the first place.Not only does the picture look better, but you have the option of selecting 4:3 output, so the image from your old equipment isn't all stretched out. Now I can also run the output from my VCR and N64 through my home theater receiver, so I can switch to them with the same remote I use for everything else.

Makes either the picture to jumpy or pink on vhs and even dvd. Not good for hdmi conversion!

I followed the directions even though I know how threes work but I couldn’t get my old video games to work

this brought back to life several of my old gaming systems! i was able to connect the component cables directly to the unit and hook up an HDMI cable to the back of my tv. i was able to hook up SNES and N64 using the original cables right into this unit and since it has two sets of ports one can have two systems hooked up. the picture quality is better than some of the other means of adapting the cabling to modern TVs. I had one for SNES which had a Nintendo style connector going straight in to and HDMI cable and the results i had with that were not nearly as good as with this unit.
