Works perfectly though BE CAREFUL supplier you choose
Part is original HP and works like a charm. Easy to install and now I have a printer (OfficeJet 8620) that works like new! BE VERY CAREFUL when you choose your supplier. Suppliers and prices change very frequently... everything in the order and item description looks the same but check carefully the supplier line. My first order had about a 30% discount but it was a total rip-off. Supplier from China,JiangDongLindyguYUT, reported item delivered and even posted a picture that was not my house! Fortunately, Amazon credited my account, Second order was from 2-Day Business Supplies, prompt, well packaged and original HP Printhead!

This fixed the problem!
HP OfficeJet Pro 8600. Purchased circa 2011 for personal and small business use. Error message June 3, 2020: “There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off then on. If problem persists, contact HP” Problem persisted. Cleaned printhead ink system. Problem persisted. Executed hard reset of printer. Problem persisted. Installed functioning printhead from another 8600 printer. Problem resolved. Ordered this product from this seller (Everything Business Depot on 6/18/2020. Received product four days later and shipping was free. Installed product and ink cartridges that came with product on day received. Printer indicated scheduled maintenance and printhead alignment was due. Printer automatically performed both, and now works perfectly. Thank you Everything Business Depot for helping me save my printer!Note to prospective buyers of this product.1. Read and follow the instructions that come with this product.2. Install the starter ink cartridges that come with this product (i.e., DO NOT INSTALL PREVIOUSLY USED CARTRIDGES.)3. The starter ink cartridges that come with this product do not have the same capacity and will not last as long as standard HP replacement cartridges. They contain enough ink to prime the printhead ink system, run the schedule maintenance, align the printhead, and print some documents. Regardless, see comment #2 directly above, and order a new set of standard or high capacity HP ink cartridges from your usual supplier to install as soon as the starter cartridges indicate they are low.4. Do not postpone the automatic scheduled maintenance or printhead alignment until later.5. If the printer hangs before or during the scheduled maintenance, press the power button, let it shut down, press the power button again, and let it start up.$179.99 + tax may not seem worth spending to get a nine-year-old printer working again. BUT IT WAS WELL WORTH IT considering this was the ONLY repair this printer needed in nine years, and it was a simple and fast fix, and I didn’t have to spend time looking for or buying or unpacking or setting up a new printer, or installing new printer drivers on my servers and workstations, or toss this printer in a landfill. Good luck!

I have a new printer!!
When my cyan cartridge depleted, I purchased and installed a new one, after install I received an error "There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off then on.,If problem persists, contact HP." I installed my old cyan cartridge, didn't receive the error, when I reinstalled the new one again, same problem. I thought it was the new cartridge, which I was able to exchange, and after installing that one, same error again. I went to YouTube, some videos stated to do a hard reset by going into a hidden system menu, that didn't work. Another video said to remove the printhead and unscrew the circuit board and tape aluminum foil on some points, but it was very difficult too unscrew. I also search high and low on the web, I couldn't find any solutions. I checked eBay and new printheads are from China, will take weeks to arrive and costs $76.00 on up. eBay also have a few refurbished or used printhead without any ink, I didn't want to take that chance and it stops working after a while. Actually. because of the cost, I was hesitant to purchase this printhead, I really love my printer, I don't want to purchase another one, with me residing in the Bahamas, the cost for a low cost printer would exceed the cost of this printhead from Amazon, a new printer weight would be heaver than this printhead and after factoring the cost, it will be expensive. With me trying to fix the error, being that my other three cartridges were low, the remaining were depleted or very close to being depleted. Being that this new printhead was HP and had new setup cartridges, the cost was worth it. The two step instructions were very easy to follow, after the install, my printer alignment mode was stuck, so I took out the cartridges. unplugged the printer, waited a minute and replugged it in, reinstalled my new setup cartridges as instructed, and voila, my printer was back to normal, and was able to print a 4 page colored documents!! I don't know how long my new setup cartridges will last, I don't have to purchase an entire set because my new cyan is still full. This is very much worth the value!! I'm a happy camper!!

Keeping my old printer alive
I have own an HP Officejet Pro 8600 for over 12 years. This printer has been reliable and had provided good quality printer for years. For the past 2-3 years the quality of printing had deteriorated. I had cleaned the print head a few times with some improvements, but last month the printhead finally crashed. I kept getting an error that it would not recognize a Magenta cartridge. I ordered new cartridges to no avail. I was planning to buy a new printer and discard this one. I decided to try a new printhead instead. Though I could have purchased a new Epson printer for close to the price of this printhead, I hated to part ways. So, I bought the new OEM printhead. I had looked at lower cost replacement printheads but reviews were sketchy, so I ordered this one. Thus far, I've been very pleased. Print quality and colors are as good as new, plus no more streak lines. Considering the many hours that I battled with cleaning the printhead and my hands afterwards, I should have purchased this printhead a couple of years ago.

Printhead
Printhead was shipped with ink cartridges that the printer wont allow to be used. Waste of money using those cartridges. Had to use the old ones to get working.

Great solution
Replaced the printhead in my HP 8600 printer after unsuccessfully trying to clean out the original. Easy to do, and works perfectly. It was a genuine HP repair kit. Only issue was the length of shipping time to Canada, which I blame on the USPS and Canada Post. The vendor was very understanding, and offered to refund my purchase if I chose. Very satisfied.
