First issued when I worked in a Nuclear Power Plant! Identical knife! Never got dull!!
I was issued one of these when I worked in a nuclear power plant, it stayed sharp throughout the stint! Handy to have around all the time! I decided to pick up another one, 10 years later, I hoped it remained the same. It did! It's small, easily carried on a plastic chain (so if you're around moving equipment, the chain breaks, and you don't get carried into the equipment! A great little neck knife!! Approved by RadCon!!

Made in China now
Another misleading product information. The new GSM product is made in China such a shame because I was looking forward to this Knife being made in Japan. Also really GSM sending a Japanese steel to be made in China. At least send it to a better facility like Taiwan. Anyways the knife comes razor sharp as usual from Cold Steel. The knife in the sheath retention is excellent. Knife snaps into sheath. It's not going to come out. Overall it's decent for a Keychain which is what I will use it for. But just know the updated version is made in China if that matters to you. Cold Steel please have someone update your Amazon listings

5 Star Knife at this price...
I bought this knife with the intention to take the key ring off and put a neck chain on to wear as a neck knife. This knife is a suitable size for wearing on the neck and hides well under a shirt. I think it is a bit big for my preference to use as a key chain knife in the pocket, however the key ring would be very well suited to attaching to a back pack strap for outdoor excursions.I am not generally a fan of serrated edge blades, but this blade is sharp and the serrations are very aggressive. It will not slow slice through paper well, but a good flick of the wrist produces a very clean slice of paper. The front edge, approx 1/4 inch is not serrated, but is a single bevel and works well for scoring. The blade is made in Japan, although this may not mean much, at least it is probably better quality than a lot of blades made else where (ie china, taiwan, etc.).This blade is well worth the amazon price ($18.02 when I bought it) and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend who wants a good quality utility knife that you can be rough on. I would not use this as a defensive blade except in dire circumstances as it is just too small. I would not recommend this blade at the MSRP of $29.99, though I do feel that Cold Steel makes quality products. At the price I paid I rate this a 5 star knife as you will find it difficult to get anything better.

Tiny little knife.
Very small knife, but the sheath is thick to accommodate the guard. So, not great for a neck knife. A Lil more though, and this would have been a pretty good knife.

Quality Cold Steel Blade
As usual with cold Steel brand knives, this one is sharp out of the box. The serrations make quick work of opening plastic packages and cutting zip ties. The Rubber handle provides a very firm grip. Once again, I use a Spyderco Tri-angle Sharpmaker knife sharpener to maintain the edge, this particular sharpener will handle the serrations as well. The sheath is very secure and the knife locks into place with no fear of it falling out.I carry to brands of knives only. Spyderco and Cold Steel. Cold Steel has the best value hands down, their steels are top notch and take a razor edge with ease. Spyderco's are for those who know. All God's critters have knives. Their Japanese steels are the best and are usually the latest steels to be in development. I trust my life to either of these brands and carry both brands daily. Some are on my key chains, while I usually have a folding knife in my pocket.I do prefer Cold Steel fixed blade knives though, and as I stated, you can't beat the value. I will abuse my Cold Steel machetes, nothing matches the strength of those 1055 carbon steel blades. The Spyderco's, due to price, are meant for personal protection and are kept razor sharp to make sure the cutting o=power is there when needed. If you want a strong personal defense weapon that will withstand abuse, I highly recommend the Cold Steel Recon 1 with the tanto tip. Research a technique called the snap cut and is very devastating.
