Cambridge Audio sound bar
I bought this soundbar to replace a Samsung sound bar. It's does have better sound quality but I am disappointed in the build quality, especially for the price. The sub does not not connect a lot of times so I have to move a couch and unplug it and plug it back in. Also it takes way too long to come on when I turn my tv on. I realize that everything is made in China now but Cambridge Audio should have done a better job at design and quality control.

In the style of a British mini-monitor speaker system ...
Purchased this unit to pair with a Cambridge Audio CXU Blu-Ray player. It came with a dearth of instructions but the pictures were enough for me to get it running in 5min. It didn't come with any cables but the CXU did so I used the HDMI cable between the CXU and my Panasonic plasma TV and an optical cable from the CXU to the Soundbar. At first, all I got was static but then I "played" with the bit rate in the setup on the CXU and got it "singing".Later, I switched the optical for an HMDI cable and that's how it's running today. The sound is warm in the style of British mini-monitors, a little subdued in the higher frequencies but it's fine to me. The subwoofer hookup was painless ... all I had to do was power it. You can control the level of the subwoofer (actually, really a woofer) with the remote. So, to conclude ... the TVB2 is really easy to set up, easy to use, and I'm happy with it. As stated earlier, it's not a "in your face" treble-tilted system, it's smooth and disappears ... just what I want.

Nice package, overall thumbs up
*UPDATE*AFTER A YEAR OF NORMAL USE, IT HAS BASICALLY STOPPED WORKINGThis soundbar is a nice complement to my 32" smart TV. As I am more of an audiophile than a videophile, I have a good (and loud) 5.1 system on my other theatre setup to compare against. Obviously anything as small as the Cambridge soundbar could never match the same audio capability as compared to a complete, component sound system, but this soundbar has a good pop.Cons:- The stereo/surround sound capability as mentioned in so many other reviews did not measure up to what I expected. Sounds a bit mono.- Seems to lack a bit in the high frequency range.- Should have more volume control range to better accommodate certain streaming media. It usually cannot achieve "ear-bleeding" loud, nonetheless, it is plenty loud enough.- Separate sub turns this into a two-component system, con if you're looking for simplicity. But this is a choice in the lesser of two evils - a large pedestal-style soundbar would be necessary to achieve the same base capability as the Cambridge.Pros:- Sound-wise, the separate sub complements the main soundbar very well. At first I was very distraught by the output of just the soundbar, but I was quickly surprised how well the sub filled in the high range base that I would otherwise not expect from a sub. The two pieces are tightly engineered together; it makes you appreciate the design that went into this.- Nice remote. I like that there's a subwoofer volume control.- Sounds great with recorded media, i.e., bluray, DVD, CD, etc.- Audio Return Channel capability is a very "nice to have." This is my first experience with ARC.- Nice overall physical package. Slim look is very attractive. HDMI and other connections are mindfully hidden. The LED display behind the speaker grill is a nice touch.Other Notes:- The Music mode outputs the best high-end frequency. The Film mode basically sounds like the Music mode, but a bit muffled, which is ok. TV mode automatically turns down the base, which is good for documentaries and such. I never use Voice mode.- If not receiving any input for three minutes (I timed it), the soundbar automatically shuts itself off. Not a big deal, but I often wish it would stay on longer. It automatically turns back on. The sub takes a bit longer to turn on, so I sometimes miss the very beginning of whatever it is I started to play.

The very nice fellows there put up some video of Jeff Beck ...
Heard this at T.H.E. Show. The very nice fellows there put up some video of Jeff Beck with Joss Stone, Crossroads Guitar Festival, and such stuff, and me and my buddy were astounded at how nice it sounded. Really clear sound, very robust bass without boominess. I could really pick out what was happening on each of the various guitars AND basses, plus voices were unstrained and clear. I'm a loudspeaker engineer so believe me I'm picky about sound, and really enjoyed listening to this thing. The bar itself looked much nicer than the usual rectangular stuff, being kind of ovalled out in cross section. Also much heftier than I expected, much more solid, which I expect helped the sound quality significantly.Stereo separation? Not so much, of course. Live 1812 cannons? Beyond the capability of the compact sub, no doubt. But the music sounded great and really enjoyable, and I kept thinking if I ever get around to buying a motorhome this would be absolutely the thing. Or a bedroom, or den, or what the heck-kitchen or garage etc. No TV even needed, this could be a better substitute for a compact music cube since it sounds nicer than any of those I've heard.Good on yer, Cambridge! I hope you sell a ton, so it is still in production when I get that motorhome...:D

Everything was ok with the sound bar system, but ...
Everything was ok with the sound bar system, but as it has happened to another customer here, after one year of normal use, suddenly it has stopped working. At this point I do not know what to do. Should I contact the seller? Or take it to a service shop? Or throw away to the trash?

Great Sound bar at a great price.
We were having trouble understanding conversations on some TV programs, despite having a quality amplifier and multiple speakers. Hoping that a good Sound bar would fix the problem we purchased a Cambridge Audio TVB2 Sound bar and Subwoofer. The specs were good and the multiple audio inputs was a winner. The result was as good as we had hoped for. Speech is clearer and overall audio performance is very good. We can highly recommend the unit. One problem that persisted was poor audio from our Amazon Prime channel. Switching the Amazon Prime unit to different HDMI inputs on the TV didn't make any noticeable difference. We could raise the audio level on the Prime unit to match the other inputs but voice quality suffered. We have disconnected the Prime receiver from our TV and will miss the programs.Regards,Bruce Maddison

Best of British
Loved this great British made sound system. Not much of a sound improvement when listening to the T.V. but fantastic for music and movies.

Gran Calidad
