Great for unobtrusive street photography
If you are buying this lens you will have already read many reviews on its technical performance and so I will explain how I use it instead. It fits snugly on to my Sony NEX 5r, has a very low profile and the metal body provides and handling weight to the camera. I use the lens for sunny outdoor street and holiday photography. At f8 and f16 almost everything is in focus, and so I just let auto iso and shutter speed do the rest. Consequently, getting a manual shot is instant and no hunting auto focus or need for focus peeking. Seems wider than a 35mm crop sensor angle of view, but is soft at the edges. So I expect to crop and use the lens like a 35mm regulator focal length. Great for street photography. Love how camera fits in cargo shorts pocket. Lovely build quality and images off the 16mp sensor. It is a challenge to force it to flare. Best of all, it’s at an astonishingly good price.
