The Sonoff Basic R2 worked perfect for my application. I had purchased a candle warmer that had two problems: the cord was too short and there was no timer. In case you don't know, a candle warmer is basically a decorative hot plate that melts the wax of a candle to release the fragrance. To remedy the situation, I purchased the Sonoff Basic R2 and a  GE Lamp Cord Set . I didn't really have to cut the cord on the candle warmer because it had one of those in-line roller switches. I just removed the switch and attached the cord to the output of the Sonoff. I then attached the GE lamp cord to the input side. Now I have an 8+ foot cord for the candle warmer. Problem #1 solved!Next, I flashed the Sonoff Basic R2 with Tasmota. Tasmota is a 3rd party firmware that allows the Sonoff to work locally and a whole bunch of other stuff. I configured it with "PulseTime1 7300". I can now say, "Alexa, turn on the wax warmer" and it will turn on and automatically shut off after two hours. Pretty cool... For the right application, this is a good inexpensive smart switch.

Got it to use with my smart mirror project. Easy to set up and in acted to my home network quickly. Has screw holes for easy attachment to a wall or a frame.

Needed the smart switch to control some home devices, such as lamps, It was easy to do the wiring and the app just works fine... Satisfied!

The media could not be loaded.  When I saw the SONOFF Basic R2, I was pretty surprised at its price. Having purchased several different smart outlets and switches from a number of different manufacturers, I was used to a bit of a higher price tag. I was pretty excited when I saw the low cost of the SONOFF Basic R2 and quickly ordered one.I have an edge-lit LED sign with my face carved into it, I had it in my home's automation prior to moving this year, but hadn't bothered to get it set up and automated at the new house. So for fun one Friday night, I sat down and added the SONOFF Basic R2 in-line with the sign's power cord and had it added to the Smart We Link App and incorporated into my Google Home.Overall, I was pleased with the price of the SONOFF Basic R2, how easy it was to incorporate into the LED sign's power cord, to get it added to my account using the Smart We Link app, and finally to incorporate it into my Google Home devices.

It was very easy to change the firmware in this device to the Tasmota firmware. The device cover can easily be removed, and the circuit board has clearly labeled holes for the serial connection. I did not even need to solder. I simply inserted the pins of the four jumper wires into the holes on the circuit board, and that made an adequate connection for changing the firmware. The device works perfectly with Tasmota using the "Sonoff Basic R2" template that can be found on Tasmota's website.

I have used many smart plug devices over the years. This one is by far one of the poorest setup procedures I have experienced. My setup has a multi-frequency router. The device was going to be used to control some remote lights. The device and phone are close by for the setup. While the App is generally straight forward like many smart plug/device apps, the EWelink pairing function does not work. The device does puts out a WiFi signal that can be picked up by the phone but quickly stops. The light blinks as specified. But that is it. As an engineer I observe that the quality control simply does not exist. I would recommend other devices on the market that have better software and clearer directions. I was hopeful this device would work as specified as it has nice packaging and ideal for inline control of lights and other loads.

I have a custom built floor lamp, I had been using plug adapters, saw these and thought it would make more sense because they could be hidden within the cabinet. Simple install, fast and easy pairing, easy setup in Alexa app. The next day.. failure. Alexa said "Check Network Connection for switch" everything else worked, so that was not the issue. Started the eWeLink phone app device worked, notice at the top said "Firmware update available." Finding the update link inside the device settings was not in a logical spot, but found it after a few seconds. 30 seconds later with new firmware, everything worked fine. I am assuming the "network error" I had was to force you to know about the firmware update, and I have seen a few other switches use that approach to get your attention, so not unusual. So I would suggest anyone else having an "issue" with the switch, check to see if there is a firmware update before you spend too much time troubleshooting it.Overall it seems to work exactly as expected, and as advertised.

These probably work ok. I was hoping to control outside lights that are controlled by a single switch. I could not make it work.

Bought four of them and using them for a month now. All I can say that I am so happy with the product. My wife is legally blind, so i was looking for something so that she can turn the lamps on and off easily/remotely.. I set them on my living room, bed room and office room. They are working wonderfully so far. Very easy to install and to connect to the wifi. I have them connected to the Google home as well, so that we can use them with voice command.My only complain is, if the price would be little bit lower then that would be great. More people could (including me) afford them. I bought four more from somewhere else. Already set them up.I am happy. Now looking forward to buy Sonoff wall switch if i can find anywhere cheap price.
