Don't be afraid, get excited, and cook with Love!
I only own two cookbooks. The first was Anthony Bourdain's Appetites: A Cookbook (2016). Now, Kimbal's perfectly executed hardcover completes the set. Delectable meals, sumptuous photos and -- perhaps most importantly -- a heart-felt invitation to cook together, in community.Shared meals are what brought humanity together in our archaic past; spawned the Agricultural Revolution; birthed civilizations; incubated religions. The Kitchen Cookbook reminds us that the art and science of cooking begins and ends ... with us. So my daughters and I just flipped straight to the "Bakes & Sweets" (of course). They didn't know we could make donuts! Heck, I didn't know we could make donuts. But we're off to the super for all the ingredients: "Savory Crullers with Whipped Almond Butter". Thank you, Kimbal, Hugo and The Kitchen team!

Canāt get enough of these recipes
Bringing community together around food, thatās what this cookbook is all about. The recipes are delicious and easy to prepare. The pictures are so colorful and every dish looks delicious. We had a small dinner party recently and the tomato soup was a hit!

Glad I bought this cookbook! Kimbal is thoughtful, talented, skilled, humble, dedicated, sincere, compassionate, and worthy. There are lots of communities and farmers benefitting from his dedication to the betterment of all. The recipes are great, the photos are beautiful, the narrative is very interesting. He's a generous man with a beautiful family, and the respect of the people he with whom he works

Fantastic cooking book with high quality, healthy, easy meals and drinks
GREAT addition to my kitchen with easy to follow recipes that help serve up a real WOW factor dish!! Im always looking for interesting, healthy and innovative meals and this book is full of crowd pleasers- From crab fried rice, to cocktails! Also- some recipes add a QR code with videos for some tips and tricks, which I found to be super helpful.Get this book for easy to follow, high level restaurant quality meals you can serve your loved ones at home.

The Kitchen is now part of my kitchen
[Photo credits- his smile, his Naan Tomato Tartine and the rest are from my kitchen collection ]Itās Kimbalās style that draws you in. All your senses are engaged with this book. His writing, sense of gratitude, and openness in sharing stories and Kitchen āsecretsā like the Szechuan chili crisp makes the reader/cook feel (I know this is cliche) like heās a friend.Youāll love how he met his co-founder, Hugo.Having lived in Maine, I would have been much more likely to eat Lobster Rolls (p. 148) had they been Kimbalized (my word, you can use it).Why go to France when the most perfect sounding Cassouletās (p. 191) been painstakingly divided into 4 separate sections of preparation & cooking, making following each step more manageable. Although I know where to buy beautiful duck legs, I must track down the juniper berries(can I use them from our shrubs?) as well as star anise pods. Thank you for adding just a hint of red pepper flakes.And for a gal who seldom indulges in a dessert, I am ALL IN to make the ChĆØvre Cheesecake with Marconi Almond Crust (p.269)ā¦itās practically health food.I shanāt give any more away. Buy the book. Itās a good read even if you donāt cook but dream of delicious food.

For Those of Us Looking to Make Great Food at Home
This book is actually really, really good - it feels like it's been born from that hobby many of us have, of going out to eat, having a great meal, and then trying to recreate those same flavors at home?What makes this book so good perhaps, is that it feels like Kimbal has maybe had the chance to fly all over the world and taste all the best foods the world has to offer - maybe a chance to live and learn vicariously through him some of the tips he's picked up along the way?Quite a few tips for how to do things that I haven't seen before, like the sample I attached that adds a touch of sugar to a Greek salad to enhance sweetness. There's also the idea to deep fry carrots for extra caramelization. And he also talks about some of the interesting spices he's come across that he really liked.Feels like this book may get positives and negatives based on Elon, lol - which is why i took the time to make a post about the contents. This book is pretty different from anything else I've come across online - great attention to detail, and a touch of science ... I like it a lot!
