I really love these shelves. The wood is very soft, so you definitely need to be gentle when putting them up. They dent pretty easily if you’re not careful. Otherwise they’re holding up nicely.

These shelves are lightweight, the black color is nice and not shiny and I like that you can still see some of the wood grain. The lip on the edge is tall enough that nothing should slide off and works well for my purpose. If you want a more clean look, I'm positive these shelves could be installed upside down. These go well with my decor which is a combination of various earth tones and fixtures that are antique silver and black. They come packed well and in such a way that they won't get scratched in transit. The kit comes with 4 rustic black shelves, a screwdriver, a tiny level, color coordinated screws, anchors and small foam pads. I was able to install mine with one side of each shelf screwed into a stud and the other side using the anchor in the drywall. Once installed they are snug to the wall and feel sturdy. This was the perfect solution to some empty space in my living room to showcase a few knickknacks that had been boxed up for a couple of years ( I couldn't find something I liked in a more industrial vein). To hang these, I Googled "floating shelf hacks" and found a great video how to make hanging these simple. I was also able to find my studs (which were not the standard 16") using a heavy duty magnet...even my husband was impressed!

Super lightweight balsa type wood. It comes with wall anchors, but I wasn’t putting anything too heavy so I just used the screws and it has a great hold. They look really nice and got me back a lot of desk space. Only thing to watch for is scuffing because the wood used is very soft and you could easily take a chunk out. (Used the board game to show relative size.)

These shelves are sized to fit in a lot of different places. I used them in my utility room to hold items like drill bit sets, spray cans, spray bottles, etc. They work well for this purpose. They are deep enough to hold these items easily, and the raised edge at the front of the shelf keeps stuff from sliding off. I put 2 shelves end to end to make a wider shelf, and they were pretty easy to line up to make one longer shelf. The wood construction makes them sturdy but lightweight.
