CompTIA Security+ Study Guide with over 500 Practice Test Questions: Exam SY0-701 (Sybex Study Guide)

My teacher told us about this book so i checked it out and decided to get it. After I received it, i saw that it has such great information on computer cybersecurity and practice questions for the CompTia tests. As well as a surprise of access for 1 year to interactive site called Wiley. I recommend this book for sure!

This CompTIA Security+ Study Guide is absolutely fantastic! It breaks down complex security concepts into clear, understandable sections, making studying much less overwhelming. The over 500 practice test questions are incredibly helpful for reinforcing what I learned and getting exam-ready. The book is well-organized and up-to-date with the latest SY0-701 exam objectives. I understand this isn't a textbook, but this study guide has incomplete explanations of things like VM escape, RADIUS and key stretching. Some of the explanations have the all of the key study points but they are sprinkled all throughout the paragraph in a manner that could have been better organized. On the plus side, I haven't seen any spelling or grammatical errors yet and it does have some really good exam notes. The book is well made and laid out nicely. I'm using tabs. It has quiz questions for each chapter that will help you better understand the difference between certain concepts, because some of the concepts are very similar. To go from good to great, I think the author/s need to step back and take a look at some actual test questions AND answer choices. I don't mean that they should give away the answers, but rather have fully complete study points. This is close to being an excellent study guide, but it misses the mark. I recommend using additional study material like what's on Quizlet and maybe some videos if needed. If you haven't taken Google's Cybersecurity course, I strongly recommend it. EDIT: Although it is missing some information, this is a really good book. I increased the rating and edited my response to make that more clear.

Buy this for my students who are going to take the exam. Easy to read and has all the information to pass the exam.

The book arrived in perfect condition, unused as described. It contains all the relevant information necessary to study for and successfully pass the exam. I highly recommend this textbook to anyone preparing for the test. The writing style clear and easy to understand, enabling me to take accurate notes as a visual learner. Do not hesitate to purchase this resource to aid in successfully completing the Security+ exam. Best of luck to everyone on the same journey.

Learned alot. Alot of material. Practice test at the end of the chapter. It's a hood read. It's worth it

This book is really good, and covers pretty much everything that's on the exam. I didn't take the Security+ test yet, but probably will be either late 2025 or early 2026. I feel confident that the information in this book was sufficient for me to perform well, on top of my own knowledge.

Bought this book for my daughter. She said she wished she had this book sooner. She aced her bootcamp etc, but prep for exam and this book will also function as a good reference book according to her. She is stepping in her fathers footsteps although a different direction in IT then what I am doing. Proud of her.

The book is organized in a more topical flow that makes it it more engaging and context‑rich than the official Comptia guideline. I used it, loved it and passed the exam

I've been an IT Trainer and Training Manager for over 16 years and have always used and continued to 'champion' the Study Guides from Sybex, for all CompTIA Courses/ Exams If you want the most detailed study materials and the best exam prep for CompTIA's Security+ exam, this study guide is hard to beat - my last crack at the previous exam resulted in 897/900 using the previous edition of this book.
