There is a lock feature that isn't called out in the instructions
I also had issues when first receiving the light, as many of the reviews had. I was unable to turn on the light after charging. I called customer service and they added a new lock feature, where you need to hold the power button down for 5 seconds for the light to actually start working. Apparently this was missed during printing of the instructions. I almost returned this item because it appeared to be malfunctioning.Overall it seems like a well made light, and does a good job of illuminating at night. I really like the quick disconnect, which works well for when my son wants to go from a bike to a scooter, this can be done on his own.
