11/5/2024 : We used to get these EM blocking laptop boards, that usually came with an attachable soft cushion. They worked really well at keeping the lap cool (and protected!), and raised the laptop to allow for a bit more ergonomic use. Recently they stopped offering the cushion, and so I got this laptop pad/cushion from Gorilla Grip, to see if it would work with the EM blocking board. And, to my pleasant surprise, the board sits comfortably on it, with the laptop on top, and everything sort of works out really well from a grip perspective. Typing works really well, The little bar at the bottom (that prevents the laptop/board from sliding) does not interfere, to my pleasant surprise. Even when just scrolling, the long bar doesn't get in the way usually, although, I have to admit that it does sometime cut circulation to the hand that is scrolling the trackpad. But, this is after an hour or more of scrolling websites. The lap stays really warm, the little incline towards the front improves ergonomics a lot, it is all jut the right amount of grippy. Initially I thought it might be a little too small, since it is smaller than the original cushion/pad we used to use, but it is actually just the perfect size, it feels plenty big in the lap, but super compact when carrying to moving it around. I'm glad I went with Gorilla Grip, they are a brand I really respect, great quality at very reasonable, honest prices! I thought this laptop cushion would be the compromise solution, but it has easily become my go-to laptop lap desk! I honestly love it! (which is a weird thing to say about a lap desk, but you can really feel the design chops of the team that put this thing together, it really feels like they iterated a lot to get the optimum sizes/materials/grip). Well done! Now, if there was a way to prevect the laptop from sliding, without a bar that blocks circulation every now and then... well... that would be pretty awesome..

Been needing a lap desk for a minute. Lightweight, love the design and the phone holder and the 'stop bar' at the bottom are nice added features! Would buy again if I had to!

It's comfortable and the weight isn't heavy and instead light for myself. Because it's small I can leave it anywhere without it getting in the way. I was impressed with the cushion. I would have perfered it a bit softer but with it's firmness it doesn't sag! Works great even if it's small

Well made item. Perfect for what I needed it for which is couch and bed laptop tray. Slightly small for my Lenovo 14" think pad but It does the trick. If I ever buy another one I would get one Slightly bigger and maybe even a slide out piece for mouse. It is a quality product and good buy for price

As someone who usually uses a laptop on a bed, this is very helpful. The cushion is very comfortable and the desk part holds my laptop well.

It’s a great function to have for a quick getaway from the rest of the family to use your laptop

Purchased as a gift (otherwise, I'd have returned). Nice looking item, with good underside padding. However, my issues are that the surface is super slick. There isn't any grab/friction at all. The laptop just wants to slide off. Which brings me to the next problem, the Stop Bar at the bottom. The raised bar or strip at the bottom of the lap desk is not really high enough to secure the laptop (15" Dell Inspiron), and the laptop can easily slide right over it. The handle at the top is a nice bonus for carrying, and it is light weight. Bottom line, I do not feel my machine is secure upon the lap desk, and laptop slides around when actually trying to work with it on your lap. Raise the safety bar at the bottom, and add a nonslip surface and it's a five star.

The cell phone slot is useless, laptop covers it. The "wood" top is just a thin layer of material, corners were wrinkled. Not the quality was expecting. My laptop is 14" X 9"
