This fascinating and highly detailed book presents a training programme for all those hunters who wish to push the boundaries of airgun shooting to the very limits. The author has worked with some of the world's leading air rifle and scope manufacturers to produce this remarkable work. The book contains a detailed analysis of shooting techniques and a training programme for the advanced airgun shooter. It instructs the shooter on the mechanics of the long-range hunting air rifle and scope, and provides instructions on rifle servicing and maintenance. The precision alignment of the scope with the bore of the rifle on which it is mounted is discussed along with the use of the chronograph. The fine tuning of hunting air rifles to improve their accuracy is analysed and the employment of night-vision equipment and other devices for hunting at night and in dull light is examined. Fitness training for the shooter and the use of camouflage is covered. Finally, the mindset of the marksman, the techniques of marksmanship and describes two very demanding marksmanship tests is considered. Review: Five Stars - good value, quick service Review: Nice book - (esp. if you own a .25 Theoben). - Liked the book. Several hours good read in it for all those interested in 'accurate' air rifle hunting. Plenty of positives in it. However, there are some negatives too. Negatives are that it is pretty heavily biased towards one make - Theoben. e.g. only one make is good enough for advanced shooting ... Theoben (blah blah). Whole chapter(s) devoted to how to strip down your Theoben and how to keep your Theoben in tip-top condition. And it is quite biased towards .25 calibre (this being clearly the best calibre, it explains at length) and which it also points out that you will need a 16 foot pound rifle which you will also need a firearms certificate for. So, overall, it IS a good book but let down a little by leaving the (non-Theoben) reader feeling throughout that if they don't actually own a .25 Theoben then they are somewhat less than worthy. Surely this attitude could alienate some potential readers/purchasers of this book? PS: And did we really need such a large chapter on weight training - albeit full of many photographs (of the author lifting weights?). There are plenty of other sources for such material - this book could have spent a little more time on matters that would interest the majority of shooters. Or it could have left out a couple of completely unnecessary chapters (there aren't that many chapters in it anyway!)... and produced a better value [cheaper] book!!

An Extra 10 Yards?
A very extensive book, albeit biased towards one particular Theoben rifle, and very systematic - almost like a military manual at times. This covers all the elements you will need to achieve pin-point accuracy at 40 yards, which is beyond the average air-gun range of 30 yards. By 'Advanced Airgun Hunting' one should read 'How to shoot 10 yards further than the average air gunner', because ultimately that is what this book is about. Worth buying for an extra 10 yards? Your choice but the book alone won't help you because you'll need a top of the range air rifle as well (Theoben perhaps?).

Unfortunately, Thoeben is no more
I agree with the other reviewers, in that the focus is on one make of air rifle "Theoben" a good rifle, but not the only one out there. Unfortunately Theoben are no longer trading. I wonder if the author has received his reward before they went to the wall.

Abit too Biased
A well written and illustrated book but I was disappointed as seemed very biased to one make of gun.As a Daystate, Ripley, Brocock, and Air Arms owner I would like to have seen more content about not just one gun. However there are still a good number of hits and tips well worth a read.

The Technical side of Airgun Hunting.
This is the second book in my collection written by the Author John Bezzant, he is obviously a Man with a lot of Hunting expierience - be it with Airguns or Ferits. His way of writting is very technical and somehow you get the feeling that you are reading an Instruction Manual. Other Airgun Hunting Authors like John Darling, Ian Barnet & Mathew Manning put a lot more personality into the way they write, which gives them a great Human factor. Another thing that took some of the reading pleasure out of the book was again as in his first book the subtle advertisements for shooting equipment. A lot of the technical stuff is quite good and the Physical Fitness tips are new for Hobby Airgun Hunters. Match Airgun Shooters have already been doing Physical & Mental training for decades. All in all, I think this book is well worth the Money and I can recommend buying it.

A Sniper Manual for Airguns
This is a military style manual on the discipline of long-range hunting with airguns. It is a British book, so some information given is of less importance to Americans, but overall the information is good and useful. There are only six chapters that cover air rifles, scopes, chronographs and pellets, night vision equipment, fitness and camouflage, and marksmanship. This is for a serious airgun hunter that is willing to spend the money on high dollar equipment and stretch the reach of their pellets.
