Tile Redi P3648CDL-PVC Shower Pan with Center Drain- Double Curb Shower Base, 2" PVC Drain, and Plate Included, 48" Width x 36" Depth

I am a General Contractor and this is the 2nd Tile Redi Pan I’ve used this year. What I like about these pans are that that save time on installation and they don’t leak like “the custom made mortar/poly liner shower pans” that we’ve gone behind other contractors to fix.

Not what I expected for the money. It’s fabricated out of light flimsy parts and covered with some sort of resin. I was expecting something sturdier and heavier duty, and something that was molded or solid, this has seams and I’m not sure how it’s supposed to stop water leaking through. All that is what it is. Packaging was good, except the two boxes of mortar or sealant or whatever it is that comes with it are secured to the corner of the pan, and when I unboxed it the corner splash piece was broken off because of the weight of the additional boxes secured inside I guess. The shipment arrived a day late, and we decided we would do our best to patch it up and make it work, until we realized it’s not even 48” long, just shy of 47 and 3/4. The two curbs are also wonky, one is 4.5” side and the other is 5” wide. How in the world are you supposed to tile that or use large curb pieces and have it come out anywhere close to looking right at the 45* corner with two different widths coming into the 45? We decided to not use it because we were disappointed in the product and just spend another day delay building and pouring our own shower base. When I sent amazon a note saying it had been damaged in shipping and wanted to know what my options were they created a replacement ticket to immediately send me a new one, and when u got that email saying the new one would deliver in 5 days I said I don’t want a new one and certainly not going to delay the job 5 more days anyway. So they told me to just refuse delivery and when it gets back they will issue me a refund. I’m disappointed to say the least, and will never buy something like this on the internet again unless I can put my hands on it first. This is the first negative experience I have ever had on amazon. Got 1 star because I could not give it zero.

Arrived damaged. We had no choice but to have our contractor repair it since we were in a time crunch.

Initially I was very happy with this pan. Install was fairly quick and the product very easy to work with. Now just over one year later I'm looking at several thousand dollars for repairs due to this pan cracking and water seeping into the sub floor. I would not recommend this product and suggest looking for something better engineered than this. Hopefully I can save someone else from similar pain.
