The Expanse Seasons 1-3

The descriptions said this was a "boxed set," there was no "box." It's 3 individual disks wrapped in shrinkwrap. Two of the disks have the slidecovers, the 3rd does not. Slidecovers do not make a "box set."

My wife and I are space opera junkies. We have binge-watch every Star Trek series, Battlestar Galactica (newer), Babylon 5, and even the horrendous Andromeda series. A friend recommended The Expanse, so I bit for all three seasons. Wow! Maybe anything would have seemed great after binging all 5 seasons of Andromeda... This show is brutally good. Must have cost a ton to produce. Great writing, great production, great acting, great characters. The storyline is so good my wife and I were up to 3 every night watching episode after episode. You must pay attention more than you would with a Star Trek episode. Kinda what I like about it. It is very realistic. The female marine character really seals the deal. There are two magnificently strong female characters. Supposedly the franchise has been sold and there will be a season 4. Can't wait!

Set of Expanse Seasons 1 - 3 DVDs (+ another series DVD) arrived promptly, in good condition. I've already watched Seasons 1 & 2 on Amazon Prime and Season 3 on SyFi. I loved starting the series over on DVD. Great, sharp images and easy instant replay are nice. The available close captioning helped me understand the dialog better. It is easy to read the cc without it interfering with the viewing.

Best way to watch is the DVDs. Then you don't suffer through the many disruptions on broadcast TV. Also makes more sense episode to episode. Enjoyed seasons 1 and 2. Particularly that Martian Marine character. Season 3 was a bit of a letdown, particularly the story around the Ring and just what its real purpose was. Up to that point the story around the proto molecule and the hybrid made some sense. And what happened to Julie at the core of the ring? No mention of her in season 3.Some have waxed about how realistic the mechanics are in this series regarding space travel, but excuse me, when you get spaced you don't just "freeze dry". You explode from the inside out as the water boils and expands from within your body. The portrayal in this series is just not realistic.Enjoyable but not as detailed or satisfying as Babylon 5, IMHO. Also felt Fire Fly (Serenity) was better from a character point of view, although Serenity was not as realistic.

I ordered this series and it arrived packaged professionally and on time. If you like futuristic science based sci-fi, you will really enjoy this series. The dialogue and acting is above grade and the effects are truly mind blowing. Set aside time to binge watch.... cause you are gonna get sucked into this story!

The Expanse is quite honestly some of the best science fiction in years and is one of those shows that doesn't forget the science part of that. Things are grounded realistically in that regard and the characters are all nuanced. You'll be unsure how to feel about some of them. Nobody here is really "evil" and I'm sure they'd all say they're the hero.

I bought the 2 seasons and well worth buying. The quality of the DVDs was excellent and they arrived in good condition and on time. as such it allwoed to watch from the start and see much that I had missed even tho I had read the entire series of books. Linking the faces to the characters really improved the series.

Very disappointed there is no Play All. I'd like to be able to watch all of the episodes. Well, the first one was good. Delivery was timely and the disks were intact.

An awesome production, gritty realism in SciFi TV is rare and this series goes way beyond most.Highly recommend this for a great binge watch!
